Went through with it!
Way to go! I think the REAL work was the learning about the procedure and deciding to do it. I'm exactly 4 weeks out today. I just had very good homemade turkey vegetable soup and it was delicious! It all takes some getting used to. Congrats to you!

Just got my call!!
I never got nervous either. NEVER. I think I'd worked through all of that just waiting for the surgery date! Best of luck to you!

My Pre-op Hell
Cry for a little while and then start back in trying to be able to have the surgery. MANY have had to jump through tons of hoops to finally get the sleeve. Hang in there----a boatload of people right here are pulling for you!

Please all that can, answer this question for me
You sound like me! I just threw up once, and that was on day #2 when my iv had trouble and my bp was high. The only other time was when I ate too much a few days ago. I'll try not to do that again ever! Best of luck to you!

Hey does Mederma work?
I had great results a couple of times with cocoa butter with almost oil in it. Definitely believe it this!

Vitamin question Post -op
I had a blood panel done 3 weeks out and see my surgeon's nurse this next week at one month out to go over the results. I do this again I believe in another month or two. It's VERY monitored for a year with my group. I can let you know what they recommend, but I'm sure everyone is different. AT 3 weeks out, I'm only on bariatric Vitamins and their Calcium supplement.

6months out down 75lbs
Fantastic----are you rowing in Oak Ridge? Looks familiar!

Pressed my luck and got hit with a whammy!
HYSTERICAL! Licked by a rat? I overate last night----on a fishstick I thought I just had to have. At 3 weeks out, I simply overate and paid for it. I thought death was imminent for a few minutes. How can anyone be bulemic!

Need Medical Advice
I'd call your doctor. I bet you can take some cough medicine.

Thinking of Cancelling
I wouldn't cancel if I were you. I'm just 3 weeks out and am having no trouble with eating soft, good food. My bp meds are almost a thing of the past. I was sick for ONE day after surgery and that was it. My surgeon told me 3 WEEKS until heavy lifting and that's today. I cleaned up all day yesterday after our terrible storms of the week. I can lift and haul whatever I want with no problems. I don't regret my decision one single minute of the day! Go for it!

Help
You can take Clariten with no problems! I'm 3 weeks out, too. You can also take Flonase if you have a prescription for it. Good luck!

Juice Plus ???
My surgeon has me on bariatric-specific vitamins. I think I feel better about that. The ones for the first month or so are chewable, as are the calcium chews he gave me.

Leaving on a jet plane....
Once you see how relatively painless this procedure is, you will regret having so much doubt about it. Think of it as an adventure. You have a boatload of friends here to help you and guide you along the way. All of us doubted our decision. I've yet to see someone who regretted doing this! GO FOR IT! And keep us posted on your adventure!

Cigna ??'s
I didn't lose any during my 6 months. But I was very diligent about having all the paperwork and records of everything. Cigna gave me no problems. good luck!

My first post!
Welcome, Gina! You will find a wealth of information here. I'm just 17 days out of surgery and can tell you the 6 months insurance deal passes very quickly. I used the time to learn A LOT about what to expect, nutrition, etc. Welcome!

3-4 week stall
I'm only 16 days out and have hit a stall. I'm getting everything in, however, and hope to get the walking going this week. I've lost about 14 lbs but nothing in 6 days! Weird!

58 years too old for VSG?
58 is young. I had my surgery two weeks ago----I'm 60. Would do it again in a minute!

6 weeks out and loving it
I'm just two weeks out and finding the Protein shake to be the toughest to get in! I do it though. I need more energy, but I think it's REAL food I want. I bought some salmon bisque yesterday and thought I was in heaven it tasted so fresh-----I get to start mushies on Wed, but already have nibbled at this and that just to have some true food. Congrats to you!

First time eating out...over did it. :(
I had potato soup for lunch out today and actually had no problem with it. It was soooooo good and normal. I'm just two weeks out tomorrow. I just felt very full very fast and tried to space spoonfuls far apart. Worked fine. So ready for real food! I truly hate milk and shakes.......

What is your coffee shop order?
Try the new hot or cold Skinny Mocha! I had coffee beginning on day 3 out of surgery. Not a problem at all!

Why so few calories on maintenance?
that helps me, as we are the same size. Well, I will be! but the small-boned thing is true. I'm just 11 days out and maybe 13 lbs down. Trying not to weigh and just to get the Protein in!

It feels so good
Mine was the 8th and I'm down about 14. My robe wraps around better already! Here's to us!!!

Do you still attend support meetings? How far do you go?
I'm with FatBGone. Our meetings are monthly and the office is about 45 minutes from me---an easy, pretty drive, and meetings are at 6PM. I enjoy going so plan to for the immediate future anyway. The last one I was only 6 days out from surgery and loved being the Poster Child! If I had horrible traffic, etc., I'd likely just lean more on this forum!
