  1. Praying for both of you. Keep us in touch please.
  2. Double check that bottle... if I recall correctly it has 4 carbs per serving... and it has 2.5 servings. Still not a lot in the grand scheme of things but they do add up if you drink more than one a day.

Fairbanks is a city (a small one) with all the regular stuff. There are Wal-Marts and restaurant chains that you are used to. It will be chilly so be prepared for that but you won't have any trouble finding things to do and food to eat. They are used to the cold weather there so nothing will be closed down and infact Novemeber isn't even close to the coldest time of year there. Good luck and if you have any more questions let me know. L

Nancy... while I don't currently live there, I moved away 6 years ago, I did live in Alaska for 18 years. In Nov. there will likely be snow on the ground and you should prepare for weather below 32 degrees daily. I recommend layers... a long sleeved shirt with a sweater over top, and a warm winter coat. Make sure you have warm boots (not fashion boots) if you are planning on spending any time outside. Heels don't work for winter weather. For pants I would recommend layering again... a pair of tights or long underwear under your slacks or jeans works well. Remember a hat and gloves or mittens. Good luck and if you have any questions let me know. L

  6. 1. Have my husband tell me he loves me "no matter what" I look like and know that there is no "no matter what". 2. Ride a roller coaster again. 3. Take the kids to the amusement park and enjoy the park. (Walking & Riding) 4. Never again see people checking out my shopping cart knowingly. 5. Buy clothes at ANY clothing store. 6. Not worry that I am embarrassing my son (now grand daughter) when I meet his/her friends. 7. Have my husband pick me up and swing me around or lift me off the hot tub like he used to ... without worrying it will break his back. 8. Paint my own toes. 9. Fit in an airplane seat or a restaurant booth. 10. No longer be described as "the big girl" or "the fat one". BUT... most importantly... to feel better every day. I am only half way to goal and I can go up and down stairs. I can play on the floor with my grand daughter. I can cross my legs. The best is yet to come!!!
  7. I was required to remove any color... they were fine with pink and whites. They need to see your nail bed.
  8. I used Seasonale until just before I had surgery with no problems. I had no spotting and really loved the 4 cycles a year. I had heard mixed reports on oral contraceptives after surgery so I opted for an IUD. I got the Mirena in March and haven't looked back. Now instead of a 2-3 day period every 4 months i have gone to a 1 day period about once a month. So it was a pretty fair trade. Good luck what ever you choose. L
  9. Good for you Stacy...your jeans story made me laugh out loud and before I knew it I was crying and laughing at the same time. This is an incredible journey we are all on... we are all so blessed to have this opportunity. It seems a second chance at life. Thank you so much for sharing your story.
  10. Have you looked in to the electronic cigarettes? They really take the edge off, and you can purchase varying levels of nicotine cartridges so you can wean yourself off. Good Luck!!!
  11. C section.. it isn't done laproscopically so the recovery takes much longer. You will be up and around in no time.
  12. I had a hiatel(sp?) hernia repaired during my surgery... I didn't know I had one... it hurt like the dickens for a couple of days. By Day 5 I felt great. I wish I had not spent so much on protein drinks I didn't like. Get the samples! Also... I spent way to much on horrible tasting chewable vitamins. Get samples on those if you can. As for the gall bladder medicine... My doc started me on it one month out and said I would take it for the first year. Good luck on your adventure!!!

  15. Go to Costco and buy some premier protein. Or... try Oh Yeah from Vitamin shoppe... they are both pretty good. Also... Low Carb Slim Fast is pretty good. I have yet to find a powder I can tolerate. GOOD LUCK

  21. My nut explained it this way. You have to weigh your meat to get the protein reading.... BUT you measure the amount you put in your stomach in a measuring cup. So... 3 oz of chicken on the scale is different than the 3 oz volume your stomach can hold. Remember weight vs. volume
  22. NTVTXN I think you are doing very well... My surgery date was only a few days before yours and I have lost 28 pounds since my surgery date. We are at about the same place. Keep up the good work and I look forward to meeting you when you get back to Dallas.
  23. My favorite is premier protein... RTD... I get it at costco but have seen it online also.
  24. I don't regret it at all. I like being able to climb stairs, fit in desks, get on the floor to play with my granddaughter, and all the stuff that comes with the weight loss. I haven't regretted it for one minute.
