  1. Good Luck and Congratulations
  2. I started my process a year ago april. I was banded 4-11-11. I lost 20 before surgery and 25 since surgery. I have been spending a lot of time walking on the treadmill as well. I figured instead of laying around watching tv, i should be at least up and walking right.. I didn't really have a strict pre op diet just nothing to eat or drink the night before. But I was really watching what I ate in the months prior to. 4 lbs is 4 less you have to lose right so that is great. I keep having to remind myself that I didn't put the weight on over night, so I am not going to loose it overnight, but it would be nice.
  3. Phew, thank you for posting your thougths I thought it was just something I was doing and was feeling really bad and guilty about it. I didn't realize it was called the bansters hell. I followed the rules to a T the first 7 weeks after surgery, but this past week I did a bit of experimenting with foods and feel like I may have over done. I turned down my 1st fill, but am scheduled to have it this week. Looking forward to that and getting back on track as I don't want to blow this chance at a healthier lifestyle. Or gaining back the 45 lbs I have lost.
  4. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I am a newbie - my surgery is Monday, April 11th. I read your post and it was truly helpful. I appreciate your honesty. I was beginning to wonder what life would be like forever with out pop or a beer on a hot summer day. I am a firm believer that you get out what you put in, and I am determined to work my butt off, literally! I just wanted you to know that you really helped ease my mind and got me refocused again. I was getting a case of the cold feets
  5. YEP April 11th is my surgery date. I am so excited and nervous at the same time, i just want it to get here.
  6. First of all I want to say to all you who are just going in and soon to be going in congrats!!! My thoughts are with you all and I am sure things will go wonderfully. I am set for April 11, 2011 and I am nervous as well, but then I focus on how ready I am for a change. I've been fighting this battle for a long time and not getting anywhere!!! I've missed out on things with my kids because I was "too tired" or "sick" because of my weight. I don't want to do that anymore. I don't even know who that person is in the mirror anymore when I see them. I don't look on the outside how I feel on the inside, and I can't wait for the 2 to be the same!! Those are the things I think about when I get scared or nervous. It can't be any worse post banded as it is pre banded Best wishes and keep me posted how your all doing. Thanks!
  7. We sent my papers in to bc/bs of Mn on Feb 17. I spoke with the nurse 2 times over the last month and she assured me they received the fax and that it just takes time but she would call and double check with bc/bs. She called me back and said they didn't have everything they needed and couldn't read part of what they did have! So she re-sent them what they needed and now I will have to wait longer! I just have felt totally on hold for the last month. I have nothing to go with my bmi other than the length of time (2 years) - I know the end result is to lose weight and get healthy. But I feel like it will be easier with the help of the band. Right now I feel like I am at a stand still because I am afraid to lose to much weight, but I want to get this ball rolling. Since I started this process last April (almost 1 year ago) I have lost 24 pounds. I am so afraid of gaining it back and/or not loosing anymore because that is what has been happening most of my life. Ugh any suggestions or advise or support would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Hi I am not sure you still need this info, but I am in Minnesota, and I have BCBS of Minnesota. My paperwork went into them Feb 17 almost 3 weeks ago and I still haven't heard. It is really stressing me out!! Good Luck - M
  9. Good luck - I will also cross my fingers for you!! I am in the same boat. Been almost 3 weeks for me and I am still waiting. this by far has been the hardest thing yet to do. And I was a smoker - had to quit.
  10. ins (bc/bs Minnesota) approval was sent in 2-17 so its only been a week. But i have been reading some people hear back as early as a few hours. I am worried because i have no other comorbidities to go along with my bmi of 40. I would appreciate any thoughts.....
