  1. i agree, it is flipping humilating, but skinny sells and that just sucks. Even when you look at say Land Bryant the models are thin, just in big clothing....seems there is an endless supply of companies that think nothing of "shaming" a woman.
  2. I only told my husband and my father. It has been three months and even my best friend doesn't know. I would not change a thing. I didn't need extra eyes or whispers while i journey towards my goal...
  3. Congrats Apple, best wishes on your journey...
  4. Good luck and God bless you...
  5. congrat Chantale, would love to know the name of the agency you went through..Thanks
  6. Cheer up Shaun....nobody's perfect. When we stumble, get up and dust yourself off and keep of truck'in. Last week i snuck a few bites, okay more than two, bites of spaghetti after my husband had went to bed. Oh well. woke up the next day, forgave myself and that is that. good luck. Saving
  7. you are never to old to get healthy and do something great for your self...
  8. Hello !! I have Anthem BCBS and three years ago they would cover WLS..now no. I self-paid. Though the $17,000 was steep, it I had it from life insurance after losing my mom. I think she would approve. Take care and good luck.
  9. i have fourteen different meds that i will have to take for the rest of my life, so far no problem. Good luck.
  10. Hi Bailey, Your health is very important, and it is great that you want to get healthy for your future family addition !! If you have to, go with the hospital financing and beg, borrow or steal..jk to get your fifteen hundred. Be creative, yard sale, jewlery to pawn. Be strong and don't let money get you down, If you really want it...you can work it out. Take care. Jill
  11. Hi Marcy, I purposely on started this journey with my husband because I did want the pressure and prying that your going through. When the time is right I figured I would share with others...kinda a need-to-know basis. I would stick to something simple...say maybe, I'm feeling great, things are progressing nicely, ect. then change the subject. Worst comes to worse...share what you said here. Good Luck !!
  12. After about ten days I ate a quarter cup of baby peas!!!! I needed to chew something..!! They were yummy...
  13. I definitely understand..It has taken awhile to come to terms with this. I am four weeks post op. I felt like the people around me could not grasp what it would be like to say, eat a traditional tday dinner...you know stuff yourself, sleep, eat some more.,and then no more, not again, not ever...!!!! But I am happy to report as soon as my weight started to drop, my knees didn't hurt as bad, and actually feeling full, the grief tour is over. It may come again from time to time...but i'll cross that bridge if that happens...Good luck..
