  1. As someone who once worked with Keith, I will tell you that he is a terrific surgeon. Detail oriented, empathetic and truly ethical at all times. You could not choose a better surgeon in the world. He has just started his band practice in Charlotte, but he is an amazing laparoscopic surgeon. Though sometimes quirky, he is always skillful!
  2. i was not banded with Dr. Curry, but he has been my follow up surgeon since November of this year. his staff has been terrific, erin was awesome helping me make food choices (i am a vegetarian--so it can get rough). i can not say enough nice things about his professionalism and the friendly staff at the front. i am looking forward to seeing them again when i need them!
  3. I saw this really cook thing by Nike-granted it was their ever consuming marketing push-but it said something like: I am making a resolution to ________________________ by ________ 2008 or I will ________________ for _______________. the marketing one said " to run a 5K by june or i will give up my cell phone for one year " I thought that was good motivation. So in keeping with my need to be accountable to something--- I AM MAKING A RESOLUTION TO RUN 4 MILES A DAY, THREE DAYS A WEEK-once i have reached that training goal (end of march)-or I WILL GIVE UP MY DVR FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR. :omg: that means i would have to give up my reruns of late night general hospital during the day. i will have to schedule my runs once i get back to work at some point. yeah. this is serious. no more excuses for my fat butt to be 25 pounds from goal. this is it kiddos
  4. i was training for a 5K last summer and broke my heel. my ortho surgeon has suggested i keep off the treadmill. i have been on the elliptical for months now (bored to tears!). i started running on the track at our rec and that seems to work. plus i went and got new shoes. for christmas i got a new i pod, so i think i am going to get my little nike running kit for it and have a go at this again. i DO NOT run in Nike...at all. i broke my heel in those stupid shox. my brother said he got a little neoprene usb cover for the sensor and put it on his laces (he is a saucony guy, i am on asics right now). so starting monday---it is time for me to try this again. i hope posting here keeps me accountable.
  5. well i am not losing at all in the last two weeks, but i am restricted can you say stress? i am trying quite hard to talk myself into a fill----but i kind of enjoy eating a few things i normally wouldn't (see you are still always fat in your head). i have got to get my mind right, my motivation in check, and get moving just had to get that out.
  6. Nina maybe an adjustment would boost your weight loss again? I know I seem to loose more right after an adjustment. A few days a little tight are good for me. be well. miss banster
  7. You can always get your records and try somewhere else.....there is no reason the psych claim should not be so far outstanding, but you can always take the report elsewhere. Good Luck to you and DO NOT GIVE UP!!
  8. that is beyond pb-that is full on puking and it is the worst. chicken gets me every-single-time, so i stopped eating it. tuna actually does the same thing, ick. be careful and go slow slow slow, that is all you can do :girl_hug:
  9. a triathalon---is pushing it for me but i feel you on the goals!
  10. i was reading back about the fills....you know i got too tight for awhile and being stuck with every meal made my esophagus swell a bit....NOT FUN. so i think if you are losing, let it be. if you are not losing, but have restriction-well then you need to evaluate what you eat. i too have a 28 day calorie cycle~so my non medical mind assumes there is a connection. anyway, does anyone have any good suggestions for lunches. i prefer to eat at work, but i am bored with my usuals. suggestions?
  11. so i started running it has been killing my shins, but no where near as bad as it was 30+ pounds ago when i tried. i am hoping to push myself into a 5K this year. just a goal i am posting to hold myself accountable. hope all is well with you all.
  12. i too was told i could drink right up until i was going to eat. i have learned if i drink something too cold it sort of closes me up, so warm helps. i also am a cheater--i take a small sip right after i eat to make sure it is moving (i am paranoid to get stuck-i hate it) so if it moves a bit i know i can stop. usually an hour later i drink a glass of water--made it a habit so it helps to get my water down for the day.
  13. i just tried the 100 calorie balance bars i have been eating one after work on my way to the gym so i am not so hungry at the gym and then come home and over eat try them out....
  14. well i am having one heck of a day did i mention that i generally do not eat meat? yeah....that makes this fun. i do eat some fish-the person above who said crab--that is something that is TERRIFIC for you. i know if i ate cheese and crab, i would be STUCK STUCK STUCK. my band is funny about texture. it is like it does not move unless i have some form of fiber, but not beans. the skin of beans just kills me everytime. i love beans too. so today i ate a zuchini and a some steamed carrots, though not too soft. it gags me to death if it is too soft. anyway, i am just rambling along because i am frustrated today. the joy of this, i know! oh yeah and i cannot change my ticker because i forgot my password LOL!!
  15. you know, i can eat whatever i want for like 2 days i crave all kinds of craziness then when old aunt flo arrives TIGHT AS CAN BE for at least 36 hours if not 48 a few other people have said the same thing at support, so my educated assumption would be that hormones are running amuk.
