  1. I just wanted to see if this has happened to anyone else.. I was sleeved in March and have had no problems with any food until last week. I don't eat bad but noticed I had French fries twice within two weeks and my stomach totally rejected it. My body cramped up and achy. I think it was due to the grease because that's all that came up. I know sorry TMI. Anyone else experience this? I thought it was weird to start at 9 months out.
  2. I took a week and two days off and returned to work just fine. You should be fine. As soon as your able to take your Vitamins and shakes take them because you will be weak the first week. You will feel fine then after a shower you may need to rest in the beginning. Just listen to your body.

    Lifting Question.

This is something you will want to check with your dr. I am 4 weeks out and last week I tried shooting a basketball a few times with my son and extending my arms high was a little uncomfortable so I stopped. Not because of the weight of the ball but as I threw the ball my stomach stretched and I felt a little ouch. If I bend too much usually picking up my sons clothes my stomach will fill sore. Listen to your body. Don't overdue it. My dr says it takes about 6 months for your stomach muscles to heal on the inside. You will have a one month check up after your surgery so ask then. By then you will know how your body responds to certain things. I think you will be ok with your dog but I worry about lifting 65 lbs at one month. Sorry I wasn't much help.
  4. Your parents are just worried but I know it's a lot right now because you have your own concerns and hon tomorrow night you will probably be more worried and second guessing yourself. Completely normal...we all did. Take this time for yourself . If you are alone have water and everything you need near by you. It's going to be difficult to get yourself up because your stomach will be sore. I slept in a recliner in the beginning it was easier to get out of. Try this ...lay in bed tonight and try get up by not using your stomach muscle. Try not to do a sit up. Use your arms. This will help you come up with how you need to sleep or what things you need around to help you get up. I'm just saying to try it since it sounds like you may be at home alone and getting up sometimes is hard if you don't have help. I also live in San Antonio and if you need anything let me know.

    Going Alone

Everyones situation has been a little different. I can tell you the first two days I was good because of the pain meds. You will be sore from your tummy getting up and but i'm sure your nurses will help. Don't overdue yourself....ask for help. I also took dissolvable gas x strips that my dr allowed me to take as soon as I woke up and that helped with the gas but you want to check with your dr. Good luck and your in my prayers.

    Pickles/relish - When Can I Have?

I tried pickles 3 weeks out and tried a bite and waited to see how it went done. I'm 4 weeks out and can eat pickles fine. Funny thing is I hardly ate pickles before my surgery and have cravings for them.

    Anyone Having Headaches?

Wow...I didn't even think about that. Yes, I was a big soda drinker. Thanks so much.
  11. Hello Friends, I just wanted to post since I know I lived on the forum before today. I was sleeved today at 1:00 pm. I got sleeved iin San Antonio,Tx. I came in today they had me take a pee test to ensure I wasn't pregnant and then hooked me up on fluids. The fluids are to replace the nutrients that you may have cleaned out from the day before. (the magnesium citrate) They give me the margarita from my IV then I went straight to surgery. I remember the mask coming on and thats it. They say I was in recovery for 1 hour before putting me in my room which was nice because when I woke up my hubby was there. I weighed 245 preliquids and 240 this morning. I was in and out and had very minimal pain. Some people mentioned a q-ball for pain so you can control the pain medication for your incinsions, I have that. It's wonderful and they say I can take it home if I want to and take it out myself when it's empty. I wasn't really awake until 6:00pm. I went to the bathroom and took my first walk. What I did was push my medecine before I got up so my walk was not too bad. I have read before the first night is the worst, I assume the anestegia wears off so that scares me right now but right now I feel great and just wanted to share because today I wasn't nervous coming in and being put under, I was worried about the pain when I woke up. Another thing...gas strips my Dr. said I can start taking gas strips immediatley so i have been. The hospital did noybsupply these i had to bring them. I also recommend someone staying with you. When I do my walks some people don't have anyone here which I considered but it's comforting having support with you. I will be posting on my page if anyone has questions. I do not know everything but can answer questions based on my experience. God bless fellow sleeves.

Dissapointment ... First Personal Training Session

Don't let someone like him affect you in anyway. If you want a trainer use someone else. Have you checked you tube on what some sleevers have done? My husband says to buy some weights to have at home for your arms. Not heavy ones but some to where you feel a pull and work out your arms. For your stomach...squats, push ups, sit ups, and lunges. Make sure you keep drinking protein to keep the muscle toned. One day at time. And we are here if you need anything.

    Sleeved Today

Thanks everyone. Pdog...they gas strips from "gas-x". Some stores only carry chewables or tablets but try to find the dissolving strips. I got mine at our local grocery store HEB but Walgreens has them too.
  18. Thanks for posting. I appreciate all the stories. I was just sleeved 9 hours ago and have a long road to go! All of you inspire me.
  19. Thinking of ya! Your going to be just fine! Can't wait to hear from you. When you get out I will be going in but my hospital has Wifi so I will have my IPAD. Let's keep in touch.

  20. My sleeve is also on Wednesday at 10:30. I so nervous. Last week I felt Wednesday couldn't get here soon enough and now I am just filled with nerves. I'm pretty scared. I have been open about my surgery with the people I work with because I figure they will realize anyway. Some have told me good stories and some bad. I am really happy I am choosing the sleeve. I have heard many horror stories about the Lapband this week. Looking for friends that can share some advice or stories.
  21. Today I am nervous! I am getting the sleeve Last week I was super excited and now I am getting more scared and nervous. I am sure others are feeling the same...how are you dealing with these emotions?
