    Protein intake, struggling

    I found a Protein isolate on amazin for like 35 bucks. It's a powder but mix it with Water and it has the consistency of water and is very easy to get it all in. It's 1 scoop 20oz water for 20 grams. I have 2 bottles a day and get my protein. And it tastes pretty darn good kinda like a crystal light berry flavor. I'm 2 weeks out
  2. I just joined a boxing gym with a coworker who is an amateur boxer and took my first class on monday. It was by far the most intense workout I have EVER done! The problem I have is that I literally could barely walk afterwards, and almost fell down steps because my legs were giving out! It's now tues night at midnight an my upper thighs are still ridiculously sore! I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this before and if there was anything I could do to help with the soreness. I know that muscles get sore after working out but this is just dumb!! I want to keep going to these classes but if I can barely walk for three days afterwards I'm not sure if it will be worth it.. Thanks for any advice

  4. dont lay flat on your back for a couple days, use a recliner or prop yourself way up with pillows. and walk walk walk as much as you can it will relieve the gas pressure for a while. as for the water/protein just drink as much as you can for the first 2-3 days it will get much easier
  5. aaahhhh im so freakin excited! I made a goal that i wouldnt do any clothes shopping till i broke 300 i cant wait to get out of the tarps that ive been wearing!

  8. i use GNC pro performance amplified wheybolic extreme 60. i only use the chocolate. one serving (3 scoops) is 60g of protein and 280 calories. i just mix it with Water and its pretty damn good, so im sure it would be much better with a skim milk or something else. it also keeps me filled for around 2 1/2 - 3 hrs which is pretty phenomenal! good luck hope you find one that works for you

  11. Hello my name is mahlon. I had my surgery on 1/17 and had my first fill 2/28. I have lost 44 lbs since my surgery( keep in mind I was 361 so it's gonna come of faster than some). The first month before my fill was really difficult to stay devoted to the diet because I would get hungry within 2 hrs after a meal. The most important thing that I have noticed was not drinking anything 30 min before eating and an hour afterward. The other was eating protein first (3-4 ozs.) Then if I was still unsatisfied I would nibble on some veggies or unsweetened applesauce. One of the bigest things has been knowing when I'm satisfied...I have never eaten until satisfied it's always been eat until it almost hurts which is a big habit to break just try to understand your body as dumb as that sounds when the hunger pains go away stop eating( easier said than done).. As early badsters we have to gut out the first couple months and prepare our bodies for the restrictions we will have for the rest of out lives. It WILL get easier! Just know that in a few months when we are all down a ton of weight we will look back and know that the first couple months of hell was well worth it keep ur head up and fight the addiction that is killing us all!!     That is one thing i am mad at myself for, i didnt take any measurements before surgery! I know ive lost some serious inches because if i didnt have a belt i couldnt wear any of my pants. I also just had my first fill on monday... it was very weird to say the least it just felt strange,didnt hurt at all thankfully! i got 4cc and i can def. see a difference its pretty neat. good luck to you all

    *~January 2011 Bandsters~*

    Good thread ive been wanting to see how other people that were banded around the same date were doing. I personally have done well until this week. i have lost 33 lbs since my surgery on 1/17 but this last week was my first week not losing any weight at all. I am pretty sure i sabotaged myself i have a weekness for beer and i had probably around 8 on sat. night, my doctor puts the band in empty so it doesnt hurt at all even though i know its really bad. ill get back on track this week, ive been going to the gym 3-4 times a week for an hour at a time i do cardio for 30 min then weight train for the other 30. i have my first fill on 2/28 im kinda looking forward to it. i am trying to eat just 3 meals a day, my normal routine is a protein shake in the morning (60 grams protein) then for lunch and dinner i have 4-6 ounces of some kind of meat. its enough to fill me but only for about 2 hrs. im not drinking after meals because i notice it makes me hungry much faster. if anyone has any ideas of what i can do better i would greatly appreciate it. also i was wondering if anyone elses doctor put the band in empty its seems most people have a couple cc's put in at the time of sugery? sorry for rambling a little.

    What vitamins are you taking?

    I use a liquid multi from GNC called miracle 2000. its pretty nasty but its only 1 shot in the morning and it has EVERYTHING!

    one week post op!

    my surgery was 1/17/10 and i started back at work today finally!! The best advicei can give is to walk as much as you can, even when you feel like you are having trouble breathing the walking is the only thing that helps with the gas pains. Once the gas pains start to subside the hunger pains will kick in and you WILL be hungry! Just remember to drink your Water and Protein even though you dont feel like u can.     January 2011 Bandsters !!!

    Congrats for the coming surgery day!! i was banded on 1/17/11.. the only advice i can give u is to walk as much as you can! you will probably feel sore and very bloated feeling (GAS). the first night( i was out of the hospital by noon on my suregery day) was rough i had a hard time getting comfortable with the pressure. day 2 got better but waliking was still the only relief from the gas and pressure. i would walk for as long as i felt comfortable then i would sit in a recliner and kick back it felt so much better. Everyday from then on got better and better the gas would go away for a while then come back its very weird. The pain in your abdomen is gonna be hard to decifer, its a mix of incision,muscle,gas,and hunger pains. I had a hard time drinkin my water and drinking my protein shakes as it made me feel even more bloated. You have to remember to drink your protein even though you dont feel like it.     First appointment and just getting started

    Congrats on making the first BIG step!! Personally the first dr visit was my biggest problem I was nervous and kind of ashamed. I don't know everything about the band yet as I was just banded 1/17, but if you have any questions I'll be happy to try and answer them. This is a great site it has helped me alot in he last month!
