  1. What exactly happens when you get 'stuck?' What do you experience?
  2. when were you banded, how much weight have you lost and did any of your comorbidities go away? I would love to hear you guys brag all about it! Thanks!
  3. Hi Everyone, I'm considering getting the Lap Band. I'm VERY nervous at the thought but know I would benefit from it. I've read on here that some people have had to get an EGD done. I would love to hear from you guys whether or not you've had to have this test. I'm just so nervous about this whole thing and need some comfort! Thanks, Jennifer
  4. Hi Everyone, What exactly happens when you get "stuck?" What do you do and what does it feel like? Thanks!
  5. I posted a similar question as well. I am still trying to decide whether or not to get the band. My biggest concern is vomitting. I HATE it. I honestly think I have emetophobia. I know it sounds silly.
  6. Is anyone from Connecticut???
  7. Thanks for your replies! What did your psych evaulations entail? Was it just talking with someone or was it a bunch of questions you had to answer on paper and/or computer?
  8. What pre-op tests were required by your insurance to have the Lap Band surgery? Do some insurances require an Upper GI Endoscopy be done? I would love to hear from you!
  9. Hi Everyone! I am considering having the Lap Band surgery and have diabetes. Did anyone have diabetes before having the Lap Band surgery? If so, did it go away? My doctor asked if I ever considered gastric bypass and I told him it was too invasive but I had considered the Lap Band. He said diabetes pretty much goes away instantly with gastric bypass, not the Lap Band. I would love to hear from you guys! Jennifer
  10. Thank you again everyone that has taken the time to reply to my concern. You certainly have comforted me. I will be sure to ask for the anit nausea meds if I do go through with the surgery.
  11. Does anyone have the insurance ConnectiCare? I am considering the Lap Band and I am worried they won't cover it. I'm going to give them a call on Monday but was hoping to have some kind of answers sooner. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Jennifer
  12. Thank you for your replies about my concern! I found this all very helpful and comforting!
  13. Hi Everyone. I am considering having the Lap Band surgery and I am so glad I found this website! I see a lot of people have to do a pre-op diet. I was wondering what the reason is for doing this? I would love to hear from you guys! Thanks! Jennifer
  14. Hi Everyone. I am new to this site and I am finding it very helpful. I've learned quite a bit. I am considering having the Lap Band done. I need to lose over 100 pounds. I have diabetes, high cholesterol, hypothyroid and high blood pressure. I'm only 33 years old. I'm married and have 3 children, all under the age of 5. I need to be healthy for my family and that is why I am considering this life change. My question to all of you that have had the Lap Band surgery is, were you ever nauseaous and if so, how bad? As silly as it may sound, my biggest fear of having the surgery is throwing up. I HATE to throw up. I can tolerate the pain and all, just not a big fan of being sick to my stomach. I know everyone is different but I would love to hear what you have to say. Thanks and Happy New Year! Jennifer
