weighing in the 100's

I was banded on 01/07/11 went for first fill on 02/07/11 and they said I did not need since I was doing good and not hungry..But I am not losing weight!! Getting frustrated but I know this is going to take time. Have lost 20 pounds so far, not too bad?

I got my band 01/07/11 pre op started 12/31/11.. I am down 20 pounds I think it really just depends on each individual person. What kind of food do you eat?

Congrats! when did you get banded? I am 3 weeks post op and I am in 18/20 so just wondering about how long it has taken to get in size 12? Awesome!

Hi Congrats on your new life! I was banded on Jan 7th and I had the same problem getting out of bed it hurt so bad. I slept on recliner the first 4-5 days. Now I am back in my bed and can actually sleep on my stomach and side I would say about a week is around the timeframe for me to not feel sore, but I do still have a little now and then. I was banded on 01-07 and I guess I have been lucky so far.. No gas pains or hardly any pain at all. I have been a little hungry today but it did pass after a popsicle. I dont like the protien shakes at all so I make them into a smoothie. Protien, ice, fruit and water or milk. So much better than powder and protien. Good luck to you, hope all goes well!

I was just banded on Friday also! I am not hungry at all either, but I am drinking plenty of liquids, broth and eating fat free popsicles and jello. I actually feel great! Last night I did have a lot of pain getting out of bed, so I slept on the recliner again. Good luck to you! Hope all goes well

It will go by very fast!! I cant believe the day is already here for me to go tommorrow! It is exiting and scary! Hope everything goes smooth for you

I am self pay so maybe a little different? When I met my surgeon on 12/28 I got my date for 01/07. So i think it is just what is available.

My surgery is tomorrow, YAY!!! I have been making smoothies out of my protein..Protein, water, ice and banana and it is so much better than just plain with water!! I have to hold my nose and drink it with just water.

I dont think i can drink apple juice? Not sure? Soundgs good though!

Yes i will be on clear liquids for 1 week I just found out my mom is making me homemade chicken broth so hopefully that will be a little better than the can stuff? Good luck and Congrats on your upcoming BIG DAY!!

Thanks!! I will try that..I have been mixing my protein with banana, ice, and water to make smoothie. Way easier to tolerate

Well, tommorrow is the BIG DAY and I am exited but nervous at the same time!! I hope I am not doing this for nothing? I hope it works for me? I have been doing pre op diet for 6 days now and have been doing really good so i think i will be able to do this!! Just worried about not drinking and having to chew my food 20 times. I am sure everyone just gets used to it? Anyone have suggestions on what to eat the first week? What kind of broth taste some what ok?

I will be going with Dr. Marsden also. He is a very nice guy. I hope that I can get through this pre op diet! The Protein drinks are just horrible! Any suggestions?
