Pain, Maybe Port?
I had an ultra sound & HIDA scan and both were negative for any issues with my gall bladder. I have an appointment tomorrow to see my Lap Band doc.

Pain, Maybe Port?
Went for a fill a few weeks ago and told my doc that I was having some pain around my port. He said Ok. I left, pain has moved a little. Went to Family doc & they think maybe my gall bladder. Had ultrasound which ended up being negative, now They are sending me to have an injection & to watch to to see if my bladder is functioning ok. Anyone else have issues? Also weigh myself at home, scales says poising about 1.5-2 lbs per wk. Go to doc and it says Im up. Err, don't know what to believe!!

weight loss
Honsetly, I don't count calories. I have been losing about 1lb a since my fill last Wed. I think that I'm doing ok with everything. My doc told me that 2 to 3 meals a day are fine but nothing more than that and no snacking what so ever. Thanks for the input! )

weight loss
I was banded on Jan. 13th 2011. I started my pre op on the 2nd of Jan. Just wandering how others are doing with their weight loss. I am down but not sure if I'm doing good or not. I was told at one time that they didn't think I would be down 23lbs by June. I am already plus some. I am at 2cc's (just ahd my first fill last week.) What is the normal? I guess it really depends from one person to the next..... I want to loose about 70 -75lbs. Any suggestions?? Help?? Thanks!!!

January 2011 Banders
I'm sorry, but that is funny! I am 15 days post op. I have finally been able to get into those old sweaters that I swore some day I would get back into!! So glad I did not give them away!

4 days post op and hungry
I drank a Protein shake last night - all I could get down was 3oz. I added Peanut Butter (1 tablespoon) to it which made it sooooooo much better! I jumped on the scale this morning to see how I have been doing and much to my surprise I am down a total 21.6 lbs since Jan 2!!! I am so freaking happy!!!!! I am now 6 days post op. I spoke with the nurse yesterday and told her about my weight loss, she orginally told me that she didn't even think I would be done 23 lbs. by June. She was very surprised. I go back to see the doc in a few days and see what he says.

First trip to grocery store since surgery
Has anyone tried the ISOPURE shakes? Are they any good versus another kind?

4 days post op and hungry
The diet plan that I was given says: Clear Liquids for 1 - 3 days, full liquids for 2 weeks: including stage 1 baby food. then pureed foods for 2 wks. By this time, I will have had an appointment with the doc about the first fill. I have been eating Chobani Greek Yogurt and drinking Special K20 drink. I still feel as though I need more protein. I did call the nurse today but she has not returned my phone call yet.

4 days post op and hungry
The port should have been stitched to the stomach so it should not have moved. Maybe you just had some gas pains and that caused the pains under your ribs. I get them everytime I need to burp - sometimes I can and others times I can't. I'm def going to call the doctors office tomorrow to see what they say. I do have a 10 day appointment on the 26th of Jan (I think). Thanks for the repost!

4 days post op and hungry
I'm sure there is already a topic about being hungry after the lapband surgery but one didn't catch my eye. I am feeling fustrated already and I'm 4 days into it (or out of it..how ever you look at it). I am hungry and find myself picking at things that I know that I should not have. Sometimes it makes me have an upset stomach and other times I'm ok (so then I want more) I took a laxative pill this morning thinking that it would help me with the gas pain since the Gas X Strips don't seem to be doing it for me. Thinking that that was a very big mistake. Cramping pretty bad. I eat the 2 -4 oz., how the heck is that suppose to last 40 min??? I am thinking about calling the docs office tomorrow to talk to them. Has anyone else felt like this? Anyone have words of encouragement?

January 2011 Banders
I had my surgery done yesterday (1/13/11). I stopped taking my pain med today because I think I am having an allergic reaction to the morphine. My stomach is so swollen that I could pass for being prego. I am starting to feel more gas pain - both ways. Is there any tricks that anyone can share or is this just something I need to let it take its time? Thanks!

January 2011 Bandsters !!!
Came home from the hospital yesteray about 4 1/2 hours after my surgery. My experience with the surgery: Painful, painful, painful. I was given morphine to help but I don't think it did. My advice: walk as much as you can to stay loose. I find myself slumping over to "deal" with the pain. I also found myself to be very thirsty after surgery. I drank about 2 gallons the day before and thought I would be good the day of surgery. I went away last night to a family members house - was ok at first but was ready to come home and get more meds in me after about 1 1/2 hours. This morning, I was very thirsty so sipping away. I have pain today but not that bad so far. I am trying not to take pain meds. I have 5 incisions, one pretty big one and the other 4 are small. My doc used glue, which is fine by me. I am pretty swollen and have been putting ice on my belly. Thanks for the well wishes! Shelly

January 2011 Bandsters !!!
I am leaving in less than 8 hours for the hospital and still having the thoughts of "should I really do this", "What if I mess up", "Is it going to be worth it in the end", questions. Then I remind myself that I didn't go through the last 6 months for nothing. Lots of money would be down the drain. I feel as though I have not been doing something right because I am not as hungry as I have read that others are. Maybe my body as just adjusted a little faster(?). My surgery is scheduled for 7am which is nice. I asked them to put it as early as possible - the bad thing - I have to get up a 4am. Please keep me in your thoughts! Thanks!!
