  1. I'm in Chicago but I'm getting banded at Mercy Medical by Dr. Rami Lutfi on June 20th. It would be interesting to compare notes!
  2. We have the same surgery date!! (Ok I don't know why that's so exciting but it is ) What kind of pre-op diet will you have to do?
  3. Mine is that strict as well. I'm about to start a 2 week liquid pre- op diet (Only clear liquids and Protein shakes- no milk, sugar free Jello, and sugar free popsicles). My post- op diet is 2 weeks of clear liquid (NO protein shakes!!) and then I graduate to mushies... Nervous... but excited!
  4. I am preparing for my June 20th surgery date and for my two week liquid diet which starts on June 6th. From what I've seen my surgeon is pretty stricts about the pre- op diet and the post- op diet. For two weeks before my surgery I can have meal replacement beverages (up to 6 per day), water (with crystal light), tea, sugar free jello, and sugar free popsicles. The problem is that it's all sweet except the broth and broth is pretty repulsive. I'm trying to boil it with some fresh herbs to see if I can stand to drink it that way but so far no luck! Please don't get me wrong, I am no complaining, I just need some strategies to help me be successful for the 2 week pre- op diet and the 2 week post- op liquid diet. Thanks!
  5. Hello June Bandsters! I just got my approval today and my surgery is set for June 20th! I have to do a two week liquid diet... but I am SO excited!!
  6. I was just approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Thanks for responding! It makes me feel a bit less anxious. If you don't mind me asking, how long had you both been with Aetna before your surgeries?
  8. I struggle with the same thing on the weekends! I feel like I am super woman during the week and do GREAT but as soon as the weekend comes... well... it's not so good. I have not had surgery yet but *fingers crossed* that I will soon. In order to break some bad habits before surgery I did a self imposed liquid diet starting Friday morning and lasting until Monday morning. I hope this might break my bad weekend habits!
  9. I'm getting ready to submit all of the paperwork to my insurance company, Atena. Has anyone been through the process with them? I've been through the 3 month diet (that really turned out to be 6 because of a stupid mistake on my part). I'm such a worrier and would love to hear about some other experiences with Aetna!
