    Anyone with a "Side Ache"?

I am about 4 months post op, and I know exactly what you are talking about. It is like a "side stitch" you would get from running. It has happened to me a couple times. I have contributed mine to eating too much at one time. It has only happened to me 2-3 times and does go away by the next day. It can be pretty painful .

    sex drive after lapband

I had the band put in Feb 28, 2011. So a little over 3 months ago. I have lost about 40 lbs in the past 4 months. I figured my sex drive would have increased, but unfortunately, I have little or no libido right now . It is extremely frustrating for me! I feel great about myself and am wondering what is wrong. Am I the only one with a lowered sex drive?
  3. Thank you so much Deb! I actually have a coupon for some Gas X that I plan to use tomorrow
  4. Sorry, it cut me off..... Congrats on your weightloss! 50 lbs is awesome! And you are right, 20 lbs is 20 lbs I'll never see again! We gotta stay positive . Thanks again for the info. It is so reassuring to know I'm not alone.
  5. Thank you so much for the reply. Now that you mention it, I think my back pain is related to eating to fast/too much. I have really tried to slow down and it seems to help. But I get SO starving and end up eating too fast. I have to work on that for sure. I'm a little leery about talking to my doctor about it cuz I would be so disappointed if he unfilled me tomorrow. I'm hoping to get another fill---not the other way around. I think I will try to make a conscious effort to slow down and limit my quantities more. If the pain persists, I will definitely talk to him tho. Congrats on your weightloss

    Any february bandsters out there?

I was banded on the 28th too . I was banded in Jacksonville, FL. Last week was a little challenging. I had a lot of discomfort! But I am feeling MUCH better now. Started walking last night (20 minutes--it's a start). Ive only lost 5 pounds since surgery but about 25 since I started my journey. Had my first post op appt with the surgeon yesterday and everything is healing well! .

    S L O W doctor's office

Ugh Stacy. I'm so sorry this happened. Talk to your doctor's office about using prior appointments with them as part if you "3 month" diet. When my doctor's office called to say that BCBS was requiring a 3 month diet (starting in 2011), they were able to count my consultation appt in December and my group appt with the surgeon and nutrition counselor in January as 2 of the 3 months. I go next week, to hopefully my last, appt with the nutritionist to complete my crappy 3 month supervised diet. Good luck. Keep u's posted!

    BCBS Fed

Update: My doctor called this afternoon, and turns out that starting in the new year BCBS federal is requiring a 3 month supervised. I am SO frustrated! I'm really bummed out. I was hoping to get approved and have my surgery in early February . Fortunately, they are including my previous 2 appointments with the surgeon as part of the 3 months--that means only 1 month left. I go for (hopefully) my last appointment with the NUT February 5. Then my paperwork will be resubmitted and I will wait and keep my fingers crossed. It's so annoying because it is a complete waste of time. Just a delay on the part of the insurance company. Ugh!

Did you join a gym after banding?

Southern Leo, I'm in Jax too! Great to meet another local lap bander. Although, I haven't had surgery yet. I used to belong to Planet Fitness. It is cheap and no frills. I liked it just fine.

    PRE.... Pre Op diet....

I am doing something very similar to you. I think it is a fabulous idea to start now! My doctor is a big fan of the low carb/no carb. I am on a no carb (less than 30 a day) until the liquid phase of my pre-op diet. He says it drastically shrinks the liver and makes surgery much more successful. I am on day 2, and it is very difficult. I am sticking to meats, cheeses, and some green veggies. I am hoping it gets easier as the days pass. I think this will help me get accustomed to eating with the band as well. Good Luck!
