  2. I am looking for friends that are going through the same thing. I had my lap band surgery a year ago. Its the best thing I've ever done for myself. Good luck and reach out to me if u have questions
  3. Hello, I do not have a band date, I am going through the process now with all the doctor appointments etc... They tell me if all goes well they are looking at mid to end of April. I wish you luck! I am very nervous happy b/c I see light at the end of the tunnel.
  4. Today at 3:45pm I get to see the surgeon and do whatever it is you do at your first appointment. I am sooo very nervous! I hope I am making the right decision. I am afraid of all the negative people and all of those who will try to bring me down. I am a strong person but for some reason this is one of my fears. I have so many questions, so many what if's. Ugh!! I want this to be the first day to the NEW me. The New Stacey, The New Wife and the oh so awesome New Mommy. I am not taking baby steps for just me, I am doing it for my 2 little boys and my husband. Wish me luck!
  5. Hello, I'm from Charlotte and I just attended the seminar this past weekend and Now I wait to hear back from the doctors office. Southeast Bariatrics in Charlotte off of Randolph Rd. Let me know if you need any other information. Thanks Stacey
  6. Hello Everyone! Is anyone attending the seminar this weekend here in Charlotte on Randolph Rd? I'd really like a buddy to go through all this with. Here is a little about me.. I'll be 34 yrs old tomorrow (1/7) and I am married with two little boys. I am a transplant from NY to Charlotte. I work full-time at a beer and wine distributor. Not much to it but I'd like to meet someone going through this process as I'm serious about all I need to do.
  7. Does anyone have BCBS-NC? I am currently trying to take steps for the lap band surgery. I have already signed up for a seminar in January but I am really concerned about the insurance. Can anyone help me? I called the insurance company and they told me to go on their website. SO I didnt get much help.
  8. I dont know you but I feel like I do. Your post was so touching for me to read because I feel about 99% of what you feel. I have just started checking out the lap band and wanting a healthier life for me and for my kids to see I can do things without having to sit down. You know? I'm very afraid but I am tired of the doctor just giving me more and more pills to take. OK enough about me, I am so very proud of you! And for you to share this personal time with strangers is more amazing. YOU GO GIRL!
  9. Hello All! I have been looking into the surgery and called the insurance company but I felt as if I got the run around. I am 33yrs old with two wonderful boys, one is 5yrs old and the baby is 6 months. Since having the baby my body is gaining weight and not losing which isnt justifying much. But I do have high blood pressure and a few other medical problems. I also just signed up for a seminar to attend after the New Year. Please let me know if anyone else from North Carolina has Blue Cross Blue Shield and had the surgery done.
