  1. You are doing great! Thank you for posting, very inspiring. I'm so happy for you and hoping to have success as you are!
  2. I think i started feeling hungry day 3 post op. It was more than the gassy pains and bordered on nausea. I just had chicken broth with protein powder and a protein shake. Those took a while to drink but they helped me.
  3. Sounds good to me! I'm in PA and its freezing here too! Do what you can, but don't overdo it. Others have suggested heating pads or heated blankets so try those if you have them.
  4. LOL thanks for sharing that video, I had forgotten about that one!
  5. Walking has helped me. Was banded Friday and did several laps around the hospital unit. I've been taking short walks around the block each day since coming home also. Good luck and hang in there!
  6. Thanks for all the input. I finally gave in and took some milk of mag. this morning and it worked! Walking is what is helping me with the gas pains I think. I've also been taking chewable gas-x but I don't know if that's really doing anything. I'm struggling to get all my Protein but I'm doing my best! I'm getting close at least.
  7. I was banded Friday January 18 and so far, so good. I've been talking short walks, sticking to the liquids diet, and taking small sips/bites. I'm glad I've made this choice, but healing has been harder than I was expecting. I'm not sure if what I am feeling is gas pain or something else. Its this tight, squeezing feeling inside. Sometimes it happens after eating or drinking, and sometimes it happens for no apparent reason. It's quite uncomfortable but lasts only a few seconds. Maybe these are hunger pains in my new sore stomach? Other than these pains, I haven't had a bowel movement since before surgery. I feel like I maybe could but it hurts to push! Lol sorry if that's TMI
  8. Lol right? My husband is finally being sweet and making me jello and getting me drinks! I don't want to act like I am independent or something
  9. Oh no! Try to take it easy, stay hydrated and take Vitamins. That's what I did and I was fine by surgery day. Good luck!!!
  10. Yay! Good luck! Enjoy your final "before" weekend
  11. Not really. I've been up moving around and walking so I think I'm pretty good so far with that. Just keep waking up in pain when all I want is to pass out for a few hours lol
  12. Yay congrats! I am having pain. Are you on any pain meds? They have me on Vicodin and it just doesn't seem to be cuttin it. I had my gallbladder out in June and I was on Percocet then which worked great. I think I will ask if I can switch...
  13. I just wanted to update and say that I did have my surgery today and all went well! I'm still coughing but no fever. Thanks for all the support :-)
  14. Had my surgery today! Very sore but I've been walking around to ease the gas pain. Best wishes to all my fellow bandsters!
  15. Congrats, glad everything went well!
  16. I'm a 38HH. I am praying these things shrink! Bra shopping is a NIGHTMARE and to be honest, I'd rather have deflated balloon lookin boobs that fit in a normal bra than what I have now. Surgery is scheduled Friday so we will see! Good luck
  17. Thanks everyone! I'm feeling okay, no fever today so far. Thinking positively!
  18. I'm very excited and ready for this to finally happen! I'm a little worried though bc my husband has been pretty sick with fever, sore throat, etc and I think I'm getting it. Whatever this is I hope I'm over it in time to still have surgery! Don't be scared, you can do this! You are in good hands and you have everyone on this site for support! Stay positive :-)
  19. Thanks ladies. As a hospital employee, I have had my flu shot, but they aren't always effective. I'm hoping this all goes away quickly!
  20. ....my surgery is scheduled for Friday,January 18 and I've got sore throat, painful and productive coughs, and possibly a fever (will check when I get home from work tonight). I'm fairly certain that if my surgery get pushed back I am going to kill my husband, who so lovingly shared his germs with me! Okay, not kill, but I will be quite disappointed :-( If this thing doesn't blow over by Monday I will be calling my surgeon to see what to do! Everyone be careful and make your sick friends and family go away if you are nearing your surgery date!!! Lol
  21. I'm not in Philly but I am in the Harrisburg area. Scheduled for Friday jan 18! Good luck!
  22. I actually gained weight after the six months. I started taking birth control and an antidepressant during that time, so I think those contributed. But I had no trouble getting approved for surgery.
