I have my date but no time since my pre-op test havent came back yet since I just did them today. Next Thursday!!!! 8/18/11 :-) only have to do liquid date for 48 hours before my surgery. :-) The appt went by really fast & I'm really confused what I should eat and what else I need to do but I'm so excited.

So I got approved on the 27th of July and tomorrow I have appt with the Surgeon but I'm confused everyone else I've talk to gets there surgery date when they were approved. They said they would have to do blood work and so on.. but what else do they tell you at this appointment? Will I get a surgery date after that? I'm so confused.

I got approved :-) My pre-opt appt is Thursday!

6 months are done... now I wait.. I hope I hear something soon.

So I went to my first Chrio appt he's also a MD he does a whole wellness bit for his office it's not only about back & necks it's about being well inside and out. So far he advised me to eat one piece of fruit before each meal. I go back on Friday. He said he will slowly work on the diet with me, but whatever work for me.

Don't worry your weight goes off you initial weight when you had your first appt, so even if you lose weight or your bmi goes under 40 it wont matter, insurance company make us do the 6 months diet because they want to see you committed.

I thought I'd start a thread for everyone that is currently waiting their 6 months medically supervised diet before they are approved for the band. I'm going to my 1st meeting with my doctor who is also my chiropractor on Wednesday. I'm hoping the 6 months goes by quickly.

I don't feel embarrassed when I talk about getting lap band.. When I tell people that what I'm planning most people are excited and proud I'm taking control of my addiction.. which is eating. I'm a binge eater who let this get way out of hand. Plus when I do diet and eat health my other down fall is I never feel full so even I ate healthy I'd still over eat. The only part I'm embarrassed about it allowing myself to get to 320 lb at the age of 22. I'm proud at 22 I'm now taking control of my life to live a healthier life.

So should I try or should I just keep eating what I'm eating and just "pretend"?

I asked & they said they wanna know your committed into losing weight.

Thank you, for letting me know.. I'm going to do the visit and what not.. I'm just afraid if I don't lose any weight they will say no, & if I lose to much they will say no too.

I'm scared do they want me to lose weight or do they not want me to lose weight during the 6 months.. If I lose some of the weight will I still get approve?

So I just got word that now I have to do a 6 months Physician-Supervised Weight Loss Program.. Which my WLSC doesnt even provide I have to go to my regular family practice to do. I just feel like all my hope and hard work to get this approved has gone down the drain.. I'm scared if I do lose weight during the 6 months I wont be approve because Insurance will think I can do it by myself.. Has anyone else had to do the 6 month supervised diet? I feel like 6 months is such a long time to wait to have surgery. Why can't it be 3 months?

Mine will be 900 out of pocket... then bcbs pays for everything 100%

Hey, I'm 22 & I'm just waiting to get approved now. I weight 320 & I'm 5'10 my height helps a lot to even out my weight but I can't wait to be healthier.. I hope that you get through it.

So I work in a call center & I was wondering if anyone has any good idea about some Exercises I can do at my desk in my chair or with out a chair.. it's a small cubical so I don't have much room but I'm there anywhere between 8-16 hours a day. Let me know if you come up with anything clever.

I know exactly how you feel but mine are my parents & lil brother.. My brother calls me NoPantsFitsYouLady because of 1 time at the mall I started crying because none of the jeans I tired on would fit. My parents always say your so pretty but you'd be prettier if you could just lose the weight.. or my dad grabs on to my arm fat... It's hard & they all support me on my weight loss but I'll be glad when they don't have anything to say about it

I switched insurance because it was cheaper for me.. & I was only allowed to switch because of the new healthcare laws.. if they hadnt went in effect.. I'm 22 & not in college that would mean I wouldnt be allowed on my parents insurance.. My company I work for has insurance but it's a 20/80 my mothers insurance is a 100% plan which mean I'm saving thousands of dollars... 1. i don't have to pay for it neither does my mother because she is in a union. 2. It's better insurance. BCBS stated it was a error on their part & they are fixing it.. they just havent fixed it yet. i'm just stressing because not only did they make a mistake they are causing huge stress in my life.. the lapband mean more then anything to me right now.. it means a better life for me.. it means a future life for me.. if I could do it by myself i would wouldnt we all? I just need to be patient & wait but they are toying with my emotions right now.. they said it would be fixed the next day.. & it's thursday it was supposed to be fixed yesterday.. they arent sure when they will fix it.

They are still saying my surgery is still denied sayin they still cover it.. but the insurance says they still havent updated the system.. im so scared.

I've never heard of any fee's the surgery alone cost 18k there better not be any extra fees.

I'm so nervous.. I called my rep @ WLSC she resubmitted my paperwork now all I have to do it wait.
