  4. I learned the hard way too. I noticed that when I'm hungry I take bigger bites with less chewing.... BOY... did I ever learn not to RUSH when hungry. Stuck is NOT fun....unfortunately, it's taken me about 3 or 4 stuck episodes to figure that out.
  5. Good Job. Happy Bandiversary!!!!
  6. SO WONDERFUL!!!! You should frame the lapband pic!

  8. I had my surgery on 12/27/10 and was flying to FL to see my grandbabies in early April. I had NO problems .... I too was curious to see if there would be any problem with the pressure of the plane and whatever else. The only thing I did do was stuggled too hard to get my suitcase up into the over head compartment. I think I might have pulled my port a little because it was pretty sore. Just be careful pushing and pulling your suitcase! Congrats on your son's wedding!!! and have lots of FUN in Vegas!!

  10. Check out Dr. Davtyan. He has a few offices throughout Southern CA. It's worth the trip to any one of his offices... he's amazing!!! Try calling (877) 923-7546 to get more information.
  11. My 6 month anniversary was yesterday!! WOW... I'm half way to my goal. I figuring that by next Xmas, I'll be close to or at my goal weight. WOW... I'm sooooooooo excited!!! Yesterday I had to get some blood work done.... re-evaulate everything since I've lost so much weight. Funny thing happened............ The lab tech notice that it said on the blood work order ~ reason for blood work is due to weight loss. She mentioned that she had also lost lots of weight recently on the Actkins diet. She now weighs 176... WHAT????? That's 2 pounds MORE than what I weight now... how could that be???? She was twice as big as me. I coulde fit both my legs into one of her pant legs....... Either she is VERY FLUFFY or... I'm very muscluar... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Do I perceive myself wrong??? I'm so happy to now be in a comfortable (almost loose) size 12 jeans. No way that Lab Tech could be in the same size.

  14. Awesome ..... you must feel GREAT!!! Congrats!!!
  15. I feel nauseated when I am very hungry. Weird....but this was something I experienced most of my life and I can't blame it on the band. Now with the band, I have learned not to RUSH my meal... which I tend to do when I'm starving..... I do NOT like that stuck feeling. Have to wait for the LUMP to pass ~ sometimes up to a half hour before I can eat again. Sorta does ruin my appetite. After 4 times you'd think I would have learned by now.
  16. My 5 day challenge ~ to go to the gym this week for 5 consecutive days ~ Mon - Friday. 1st day Monday = check
  17. Last night was HORRIBLE!!! We went out to dinner on Wed. night. I got a salad. Then exactly 24 hours later, on my way home from work, I started feeling awful!!! I was had severe nausea. After I got home I got sick up every 1/2 hour (both ends) I was so scared I was going to hurt my band or my port. The force and pain of heaving that much was the worst experience ever! I had a pretty bad case of food poisoning 20 years ago and this reminded me of that. Not as bad as my experience from 20 years ago...but very close. I was up all night... every 1/2 hour to 45 minutes in the bathroom until 5:00 am this morning. Today I'm feeling weak and trying to get some liquids as I know I must have been pretty badly dehydrated. I'm now scared to eat. Has anyone else ever had to deal with food poisoning or a "bug". My husband was pretty scared too that I was going to hurt my band and wanted to bring me to the hospital. I kept telling him that I would be OK... I didn't let on how nervous I really was.
  18. This has happened to me twice. I learned the HARD way not to RUSH my meals. The pain in my chest was pretty bad...and the sliming thing is GROSS. But I think the pain I was feeling was even more distressing. I have learned to eat slooooowly.... and chew well. The best way I was able to handle it was to move...keep walking, bending and stretching. I also learned NOT to do this in front of other people who do not know that I've been banded. It's hard to explain why I was going through the ordeal. Now I think it's about learning new habits. Before the band I would just grab something, rush to eat it and run... Not anymore!!! I have to be more careful in planning.
  19. My doc recommended taking Chelated Zinc (50Mg) and Biotin (1000mcg) supplements.
  20. I'm also Hypo-thyroid... I'm glad I found this post. I realized that I am not alone. Few people really understand the challenges and frustrations we face.
  21. Got my second fill this past Saturday and was on liquids since then. My doc suggested to be on liquids for two weeks. I found it almost impossible when I had my first fill and made it about a week and a half before I caved and started eating my normal stuff. Well... I tried to "do it my way"... and low and behold... I was wrong. My husband made some great ham steaks for dinner and I took a bigger bite than I should have. WOW... that was a huge MISTAKE. I guess I should have tried something in the mushy category first. NASTY... I really learned a lesson!!! Well... I did learn that I definitely have the most restriction than I've ever felt..... maybe I'll be lucky and find this to be my "sweet spot". I will now Forever take small bites and chew like crazy before I swallow.
  22. Had my second fill this past Saturday.... and over the weekend busted through my weight loss stall. Yeah... down into the 170s now and got into my NON-elastic waist size 12 jeans. Next goal 160s.
  23. Yahooooooooooooo!!! only 4.6 more lbs to go and I'll reach my Memorial Day goal. Maybe I can acutally do this!!!!
