  1. I was banded 11/10 and have lost @ 50 pounds and have about 30 more to go. My post are has been sore lately. I am wondering if it is due to eating too much or bread cracker like foods?
  2. Steak is about the only food that causes me serious blockage problems. Spare ribs are no longer on my food lists.
  3. I agree with this poster. I see this frequently when people join AA. they develop another addictions. Often to cigarettes and coffee. It is a very good idea to seek some professional help. I have lost about 50 pounds in a year with about 30 more to go. i spent a lot of time in shopping malls over the summer. I needed to buy some new clothes, but I also discovered that every mall now has those frozen yogurt shops . You pay by the amount you put in your cups. I only lost 4 pounds in 3 months, because of my desires for the frozen yogurt on a hot day. Thankfully it is getting cooler and my closets are full so my desire for the frozen yogurt is waning. i just hope I can get rid of this left over Halloween candy now!
  4. May I be so rude and ask about how much a body lift can cost? Thanks
  5. Get some supports in place NOW. Think about joining Weight Watchers. Does your doctor have support group meetings? You have been eating well for 2 years, it is time to do it with out the safety net. You know you have the power to do it on your own now!!!!
  6. I have noticed when I am swimming even my forearm flows back and forth. I have seen people who have had the skin tightened under the arm and they have a long scar that goes the length of the arm. i think we are fighting a losing battle.
  7. I have the same problem. i have lost about 50 pounds and my arms keep waving back at me. The also look puckered like cellulite. You can build the muscle on the top, but the bat wing part is just flappy skin. It is really miserable during the summer when short sleeves are a must. Diana
  8. Have you told your doctor about the choking problem you have? That is very important! I had my banding done last November when I was 62. I have not had a single problem. I credit this to following the doctor's instructions exactly. I have lost 50 pounds and I hope to lose 50 more. Exercise is very important even if it is just walking. Good luck
  9. Summer is coming and my downfall has been the joy of eating way to much ice cream. I bought a Cuisinart ice cream maker, but now what?? Does anyone have recipes to share of low fat, low cal ice cream or sorbets? Thank you Diana
  10. If you don't mind, could you give us an update on how your procedure went? My flappy arms are making me crazy. Thank you
  11. My first fill was 5cc in an 11cc band. I had very little restriction. My next fill was only 1cc and I really feel the difference now. I hope it lasts.
  12. Good for you! Do you have any advise to offer? What have you found works well for you and helps your weight loss.
  13. I had no problems but, I followed the doctors orders to a T. I have a friend who was banded about 2 years ago and she gave me a lot of advice that I followed. Don't push past what foods you are suppose to be eating. Also, i have discovered that the port has to settle in. I am 31/2 months post surgery and still get occasional tingles or a pulling feeling. I asked my doc and he said that it is just the scar tissue forming to hold the port in. For the first month or so limit your deep bending over. This is not the time to try touching your toes. Slow and easy is the best way to go, at least for me.
  14. I hope there is still room in the boat! I had my first fill about 6 weeks after the surgery. Very little real restriction and what was there dissipated gradually. One month later i had my 2nd fill of only 1cc and I really have some nice restriction now. Learning to eat slow is my biggest problem and with more restriction I really have to be careful now. I ate some salad with crab and shrimp (no mayo) last night, i had my first experience with some slimming. Just got to slow down!
  15. Good for you!!!!!
  16. I bought a silk type thermal shirt at Walmart. It was one of those items that has been marked down and crumbled up so many times they are almost giving it away. it has been the best impulse buy I made all winter. It feels great next to my skin and keeps me warm. Now that spring items are coming in I cannot find anymore of them. They are available in catalogs online but, will never beat the buy i got.
  17. There has been a lot written about those type of shoes lately. There is no valid research that substantiates the claims made by either shoe maker . But, if the shoes get you too walk more then they are worth the money.
  18. I am at the same spot you are, i am not sure what i am suppose to feel. After a few bites of Pasta I can feel some restriction and then it goes away. I can guzzle a glass of Water with no problems. A large salad causes no problems. It seems like the restriction comes and goes.l
  19. I am not sure which to buy. It looks like they both have the same games but, the 360 has wireless remotes. I know the 360 is more expensive but, is it worth it? Also, does anyone remember this dance game? I use to see it at Fry's. It has a mat that you use to follow the steps that are shown on the screen. It always looked like a lot of fun. Thank you and Happy Wednesday everyone!
  20. I developed a rash. I was told it might have been caused by the wash they use pre surgery, like Betadyne. I had a Kenalog shot and it went away with no problems.
  21. I was banded 11/10. Last week i was at my support group meeting and we were talking about the pre op diet. We all agreed that we hated it, but it was a great way to lead us into our new post op diet. It wasn't such a shock to go from cheese burgers to broth overnight. Besides for a few days you don't feel much like eating anyway.
  22. I agree with what the other posters have said. I was banded in 11/10 and my weight was a little more than yours. The surgery was very easy. But, don't push yourself the first couple of days. Walking is very important, it will help the gas dissipate. Bending over can be a problem depending on where you port is placed. I used a reacher for a few weeks. I have been very cautious with my food and i have not had a single problem. So far I have lost 40 big ones. Before you go to the hospital have some supplies ready at home. i suggest a box of Gas-X, Benefiber chewable to stave off constipation and Isopure Zero Carb Protein drinks. They are a great way to get your fluids and protein. Oh yes, don't forget the sugar free pudding. Never thought I would ever say that! It was chocolate chip ice cream before the band. You will do great! Keep us posted.
  23. I really like your positive attitude!
