  1. Hi Saraannie! My name is Kelly. I received my band 8 days ago- 01/18/2011. It was one of the best things I have ever done. I think it is funny that I rarely belched before my surgery but now I do it alot! I did eat a grilled chicken salad last night. It was not big but I did it. It did not bother me. I have not experienced anything getting stuck. I have a very close friend that did this like 4 years ago so he has educated me so much. It makes me wonder if your band is too tight or mine is not tight enough. My first post op appt is Monday, January 31st. I did weigh myself on Friday and I had dropped 7 pounds. I tried to do the ticker thing but I could never get it to save right. We both are experiencing the same stuff so I just wanted to indroduce myself and say Hi. Best of luck to you!
  2. I am four days post op. I am very happy about the decision I made. I am a petite woman- 5 feet tall but I weighed 218 pounds . That was the largest I had ever weighed. I found the first few days alittle tough. The worse thing for me was the bad backaches I had. I suffer from back spasms so after I was placed into recovery, it was bad. A few days after my surgery was the worst. I guess that saying it gets worse before better is true for me. Four days in, I am still sore but I feel good. I got dressed and put makeup on! I went to my friend Alicia"s house and weighed myself and I am down 7 pounds!!!! I can see it in my face! This has been a blessing for me that I cannot take advantage of. I cannot find myself reverting back to those old habits. For the first time in days, my stomach actually growled. It is no where but down for me!!!
  3. Hi Docs Wife, My name is Kelly. I went to one of my pre op appts today. I didnt realize that you were put on a diet before you had your surgery. It is gonna be tough for me too. I am not certain if I will have my surgery before Xmas or not. I was really surprised that every one in that office told me to have the sleeve done and then the nurse told me I could have the bypass if I wanted it! I weigh 218. I do not want the bypass. I wish you the best and I am about to know what you are dealing with!!!!
