  1. Surgery went well, just got my cath. Out and once I can pee the iv and drain tube will come and I'll be heading home! I'm sure there will be plenty of not-so-fun things to come, but right now...no regrets and so happy this has finally happened. Now, to turn on the Faust and pee! On morphine so forgive my cluttered and messy writig.
  2. Wow, congrats! That is fantastic. And thank you for the advice. I am 2 weeks pre-op and will definitely get that "something" and get some pics!
  3. 60 pounds in 4 months...WOW! You are amazing!!!
  4. Thanks gilrs for your concern and sorry it has taken so long to get back on the site. My new date is May 4th! I'm starting back on my liquid diet tomorrow. The morning of surgery (my original April 6 date) I got there, so excited and not even nervous, to discover that we had a major mix up (miscommunication on our part) and had to walk out without surgery. It was awful but after my 20min. of sulking I was ok and was actually the one holding it together for my husband because he felt so bad. By the end of that day however, everything was figured out and I'm ready to go...again. Strange thing is that although I'm still excited, I don't think I'll really be able to feel it fully until they are actually wheeling back for surgery! I'm pretty sure the worst part will be having to drink the magnesium citrate, expecially since I'm out of town on the 2nd and 3rd for a conference. That should be a fun road trip home from St. Louis...I did already warn my co-workers so they know what is coming. Folks, you will not want to be out on the highway between 4:30pm-7:00pm that day!
  5. So glad to find some KC people. I was scheduled for my sleeve this morning and showed up to find out that due to a financial issue (which is now resolved) I have to reschedule. I should have my new date tomorrow so I'm just hoping it isn't too far out. I'm so ready!!! Bring on more liquid diet and magnesium citrate...blah! I love the idea of meeting up. I'm in Liberty. I wanted to go to the monthly support group meetings (my doctor is Hoehn) but I can't make it there in time due to work. Best wishes to you all. I absolutely love this site and have gained so much knowledge and inspiration from you all!
  6. Thanks Mystee...see you on the KC thread.
  7. I'm 33, class of '96 and can't wait to be able to go into Learner and buy some of these fabulous 80's clothes. Yes, I'm an 80's girl at heart.
  8. It's been a long day, waiting for rescheduled date. Hopefully will get that date tomorrow.
  9. So happy to find KC folks! I actually went this morning for surgery and at the last second had to reschedule due to a financial issue. Was bummed but everything is sorted out now and I'm waiting for my new date. Has been a very emotional last 48 hours. I love the idea of meeting up. I'm in Liberty and can't make it to the monthly support group meetings due to work.
  10. Woo Hoo! Heading on my 30 min. drive to surgery...will be done and in recovery in 3 hours from now! Slept great, no nerves (YET), and SOOOO excited!!!
  11. I hate that any one is having issues but I must say that the staff (as well as Dr. Hoehn of course) have been nothing but the best! I had very high standards going in, based off of a friend's experience there, and they have surpassed those expectations with every phone conversation, email, and visit. I am a self pay patient with surgery tomorrow! I hope everything works out for you, as I'm sure it will.

  13. Btw - thanks for the sip and walk advice. I'm really hoping it isn't pain like the kind I had with my first c-section!
  14. Dr. Hoehn is my surgeon and it will be in Overland Park, KS at Heartland Surgery and Specialty Center. They have been amazing so far!
  15. I'm so excited! Surgery is at 7:30am, tomorrow, April 6th. Although I haven't posted a lot on this site, I've been reading so many of your stories and have been so inspired. Can't wait to get to focus on the post-op now! I keep waiting for the nerves to kick in, but nothing yet...just excitement!!!
  16. My surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday, April 6th with Dr. Hoehn! I'm so excited! Dr. Hoehn and his entire office staff have been so wonderful. So far no nerves, just ready for this. Congrats and keep it up! That is fantastic!
  17. wheybolic isolate extreme 60 - I like to mix the chocolate and vanilla Syntrax Nectar - My fav. is Strawberry (really yummy to mix some of my chocolate with it!) I like mixing mine with vanilla Silk 100% soy milk
  18. April 6 with Dr. Hoehn in MO as well!
  19. Vanilla is pretty good as well. I've actually been mixing it with the chocolate. Thinking about buying the strawberry too! I lucked out because it was the first brand I tried.
  20. Thanks for the info.! My big day is April 6th. I can't wait!!!
  21. I am on day 4 of my clear liquid 2-week pre-op diet and have lost 6 pounds. The first day was awful but it really isn't so bad now. I get 3 protein shakes a day and tons of water. I can also have chicken broth, sugar-free jello, and sugar-free popsicles but really haven't had much of that since I've been pretty satisfied with the shakes and water. We'll see though...11 more days to go so I may be loving the jello by then!
  22. This is great! I too am printing and using them at my first dr. visit. You are such a great resource and inspiration!
