  1. I just found ot yesterday that my port fliped. I recieved my Third Fill on the 3rd, and she had a really hard time getting to my port, which she had never had before. She did manage to get to the port, and gave me 1.6cc fill. I usually only get 1cc. Well no surprise the .6 is alittle to much. So, I went in yesterday to have some removed, and No Luck. The Nurse, nor the doctor could get to it. So, Doc took me to X-ray and sure enough it has flipped over on it's side. So, Thursday March 17th I get to go back in for surgery to fix it, and have the .6cc taken out so I can eat more then just greek yogurt and drip protien shakes.
  2. Hello all, I had my surgery on November 3rd 2010. I had my third fill last wednesday 2 March 2011, they had a hard time getting to my port on that day, but managed to get it done. Then Monday I noticed as long as I ate Cream of Wheat or Yogurt I was fine, but if I tried to eat anything like Chicken, Salmon, anything that wasn't SOFT, I would get stuck. So, went in yesterday (3/10/11) to have .6 cc removed and she couldn't get to the port. Called the Doctor, he couldn't get to the port. Off to X-ray we go, and after about 30 min of pushing on my port, Doctor decided that it is fliped on it's side and so I have to go in for a Port Revision to fix it. I would have had this done today, but I had no one to take me to the Hospital as I have to be put under. (Hubby is at Disney World with our son.) My question, has anyone had this done, and how long did you hurt? I am not looking forward to this, since that is the spot that hurt for a few weeks, and on the 22nd my husband is having surgery on his Knee and I will need to be able to help him.
  3. The Isopure is what they had me drinking the 1st week after my surgery while I was on the clear liquid diet.
  4. I had my surgery on November 3rd, so I am 3 weeks post op, and have been able to eat food since Friday the 19th. Yes people really do lose weight, I have lost 14 Lbs since my surgery 3 weeks ago. I think it really depends on what you eat, how much you eat, and if you do some type of excerise. DON'T just sit around! I was up and out of the house walking 3 days after my surgery. Not walking fast, but just walked around the block. I think it made all the differance in my Pain, and how much weight I have lost. Good luck!
  5. I feel your pain!! My mother has the biggest mouth in the world!! Not to mention she is using me as a ginny pig. I decided to get this surgery, I figured I would let her know, since she is my mother, and I KNOW she has done told my whole family (People I have not talked to in years!!) what I have done. Hoever, I am sure she has not said a word about the fact that she has also decided to do it. Everyday she calls me to see how I feel, not cuz she really cares, just becuz she is trying to make her mind up if she is really going to do this or not. I don't think she will, the women has been a type 1 diabetic for the past 25 years, and she has never followed the diet, she eats what she wants when she wants. Sorry Guess I just vented and got off track!
  6. I Lisa, I also had my Surgery on November 3rd. I am now back to work, and feel great. However, I do find myself getting Hungry and having the office here my stomach growl, NOT COOL!!
  7. I have been taking the Bariatric Advantage Vitamin, and I have found if I take it on an empty stomach, I get nausea. Try taking it after you eat, or while your eatting.
  8. When you make your ticker, and you get to the last page. Go to the bottom of it, and copy and paste the bbcode into your signature box, save it and then refresh you page. There is another tread on here that helped me do it, and they show step by step directions. If you still have problems, let me know, in the mean time I will try and find the tread that helped me and send you the link to that. Good Luck!
  9. Hello, I work on Fort Hood, and Live in Cove. I just got my band on the 3rd of November, so just got to the mushy food stage. Shoot me an e-mail if you want to chat. Hubby just retired in September, so no more Iraq for us, but I know what you will be going threw. After all Hubby did 22 years. =-)
  10. I chose the Band because I didn't like the idea of having my insides rerouted. I thought about the sleeve, but my insurace wouldn't pay for it, unless I let the military Doctors do it. No Thank You! But, then I also talked to a friend and she got the sleeve in May, her Mom got the Band in May. She says she really wishes she had done the Band instead of the Sleeve. She said she can really see how she can mess things up if she doesn't watch it. I guess she can eat just about anything she wants, and there is the chance of stretching her stomach back out. That was all I needed to hear, and so chose the Band!
