  1. How are doing post-op? I live about 45 min south of Atlanta; been banded since Dec. 2010 and doing well. Patience and adherence to the rules are key :-)
  2. I was banded on the 20th as well, and have the same issues. I'm still on liquids, but I can tell a difference in the shoulder pain when I drink something a little thicker, like cream of chicken Soup versus gatorade for example. I think it has to do with the gas issue still....
  3. I was also banded on the 20th, and my recovery has been a little more difficult than I expected. I wonder if it's because of my age...(43). I'm following all directions, though not getting in as much fluid as needed. I've had only one episode of very mild nausea last night, stomach pain, gas, etc, and generally just feeling weak. It does seem that each day gets better, though. I think I had unrealistic expectations that I would be up and about the day after surgery pretty much doing what I wanted....wrong! Feel blessed if you had a great recovery-anyone struggle a little more than you expected?
  4. Thanks for the encouragement Ladybug!
  5. I'm scheduled to be banded on Dec. 20 and will also have hiatal hernia repair at the same time. I was told this would decrease the odds of complications...does anyone know if this will lengthen or make worse my recovery? Thanks! AJ
  6. ...not a mentor, but happy to be a 'buddy'-I'll be banded Dec. 20; I'm 43 years old, married, with a 14 year old and 12 year old, both boys. Like you, I'm eager, but anxious! Perhaps we could share this experience and learn from each other!
