  1. I just posted that my best friend is mad at me because I didn't tell her I had the surgery. I choose not to tell her because she always had something negative to say about her other friend who was banded. One day before she knew I was banded she stated" I don't see how people can get that and think it will change their lives." And she thinks that I would have told her about me having that same surgery that you down all the time. I guess she could be a tiny bit jealous, we were both big girls now I not so big anymore and don't have to buy all my clothes from the plus section. I just don't get why she is so mad, its not like I slept with her man, put her life in danger, stole something from her, or physically hurt her. I did something to myself and choose not to tell her until I was ready to. I mean if I got a tatoo would it be so tragic, or if I choose sleep around and not tell anybody that would be what I choose to do with me right?
  2. Ok, I got banded in October. I just told my best friend about it a month ago. She is now not talking to me she says she is hurt cause I didn't tell her. I didn't tell her because she talked about one of her other friends that had the surgery negatively. So why would I tell her? She may not know it but she was one of the reasons why it took me so long to get the surgery in the first place listening to her. I could kick myself right now, sometimes I see how happy I am and say to myself "Damn I should have done this years ago." But listening to her I didn't. Now she says that I was wrong for not telling her. I think she is a tiny bit jealous, we were both big girls and now I not so big anymore. Have I gotten a big head about this? Or why should I even feel bad, I mean its not like I stole something from her, sleep with her man, or even endangered her life. I did something to myself, me. If I got a tatoo and didn't tell her would it be different, I mean they are permanent too.
  3. Ok, I was banded 10/29/10, my progress has been pretty good. I started out last summer weighing 292 and now I weigh 228 and can wear a size 14. I have enjoyed the weight loss, but I now keep hearing about how much better the sleeve is. Then I went and got a fill and it was too tight they ended up taking more fluid out than they put in. So for the month I have only lost 1pound. I am ok with that cause at least I didn't gain anything and I did take advantage of being able to eat more.( I'm still a fat girl at heart, hell I wanted a burger.) Plus I'm a teacher and off for the summer so I am up more at night sometime I have a snack, but back to the point. A lot of people have been saying the sleeve is better because you have no fill issues and the weight loss is better. I am just scared that I won't reach my goal of 170. So people have said that they gained their weight back. And some people who had the band got it removed to get the sleeve. What do you guys think?
  4. I had an appointment on May 12th. I had lost 12lbs in 6weeks, so the dr. decided that I had hit my sweet spot. No fluid added in my band! Now after kicking my body into high drive with more exercise, I have found myself more hungry! And wouldn't you know I feel like I can eat more!. I have not lost more than 1 to 2lbs since my visit and I find myself obsessing over weight loss. I started out as 277 on surgery date and have gotten down to about 227. I had my surgery on Oct. 29, 2010. I am so scared that I have reached a plateau or could have stretched my pouch. How do you know if your pouch is stretched? Could I be hungry because of the lack of fill? Why am I getting indigestion? Is there anyone out there who is having to adjust mentally and physically like me? Can someone please help me?
  5. Is there anyone out there that can eat a burger without it getting stuck? I am having a difficult time not being able to eat a burger. I know we should not eat like this, but just one will not kill you. Am I trying to eat it too fast or should I just leave it alone all the way. The bread just gets stuck.
  6. Don't be hard on yourself. After the surgery you have to remember that you don't have any fluid or very little fluid so you may not feel the restriction that others are talking about. Please remember that the holidays play a major role in all of our lives. We show our love through sharing food. My doctor told me that the third week after surgery would be difficult because that when most of the swollen would be done. Start over with a fresh outlook. The thing that helped me through that time was I had to keep telling myself, I did not get put under to fail at this. Make sure that you are eating 3 meals a day a water will make a major difference. 2011 we are both going to be fine. Smile
  7. I am so upset to hear all this, I mean I am happy for you all, but I have only dropped about 12lbs. I still get hungry in fact I was hungry about 4 days after the surgery. I am exercising, but I guess i could do more, I just don't know what I am doing wrong. I wish I could have that satiety like I had after surgery. Do you guys get hurgry or no?
  8. I had surgery on 10/29. I feel fully healed except for a little soreness. I am hungry and when I do eat I can't really say if I have restriction. The only thing that is keeping me from eating is the scale showing how much weight I have lost. When I eat if I don't drink it seems like I don't get full, but they say you should wait 30 mins. the 30 mins I wait I finally find myself to be full. Did anybody else have this problem with your band in the beginning?:smile2:
  9. Ok I got the band on 10/29 and today and yesterday i was hungry. I thought the first week you didn't get hungry. I must admitt I am a pretty fast healer so I don't know if it is mind over matter, but I know my body. I have not broken down and stop with the liquid diet because I want to follow everything by the book and I did not have them cut into me to only fail at weight loss, but I just want to know has anyone else gone through this the fisrt week of healing. Is there something wrong with me? Please respond and help out a future skinny girl.
  10. Ok, my surgery was Friday. I was doing pretty good with the saitery, I don't know if I spelled it right, but you know the feeling of not being hungry. Well today I am hungry and I am a little disappointed in myself. I mean here I let people put a band around my stomach and now 4 days later all I keep thinking about is how I can puree some food. I don't broth or those shakes anymore. Plus I started my vitimans today and feel like I have acid reflux. Help, did any of you feel this way and what helped you get through.
  11. Hello, I got my band on yesterday, my stomach is sore and my mouth is dry. I do get the coughing and I still have drainage. I am just so sore and is worried about not being to return to work on Tuesday. I also see were people were put on an oz restriction I did not and I am wondering if that is were some of my pain is coming from? I look forward to this journey and good luck to us all. God Bless:tongue_smilie:
