I have been fat all of my adult life, i was a thin and active child when i was growing up but once i became unactive i gained the weight. I am tired of being fat, i have tried it all, every diet you can think of and with crappy work schedules and whatever was going on in my life at the moment i couldnt drop the weight and if i did it wasnt much that i would lose and it wouldnt be long till i gained it back. I got a job as an instructor for a career college and they had excellent insurance, it was with Cigna, Cigna boosted how much they cared about their patients and i was excited to see that they covered bariatric surgery so i chose them. i started the processes to become eligible do the 6 months of supervised weight loss efforts by a MD or RD, my company offered 3 nutrition consults per year covered at 100% and not subject to the deductible at all. it took Cigna 6 months to pay for the first visit i had, they couldnt agree with their own policy so they wouldnt pay for it. i am 3 months out of surgery and they have still not covered the surgery. I am glad that i did pick Cigna for the insurance because they are supposed to cover it even though they havent but i am prepaired to sue if they dont either way it was a life changing decision that i am glad i made. I will no longer be fat, and rejected by society, people look down upon fat people, and even before i had surgery i did the same thing too, it makes me feel horrible. i am not one to sugar coat the name of "fat" by saying "overweight" "big boned" "obese" "fluffy" or whatever else there is to call it. its fat, simple as that, and i hate being fat i am slowly dropping the weight and i am excited that i will have a longer healthier life. unlike those out there who hate fat people i have been there in their shoes and i hope that i can help support those people who are "fat" i may have looked down on the fat people in the past but going through this has changed my view of people in general.
