I didn't forget about the thread, just a few changes here. I have had a last minute change of heart, and I decided to do the gastric bypass. I have 200 pounds to lose, and while talking with my doctor, I think this is the best thing for me.
Thanks so much to all of you for posting on this thread, and best of luck to you all!!
Teri
Welcome everyone! I am so glad to have "lapband friends" to chat with! Sorry for just now getting back to the thread.
My days are getting easier (I am on day 6 of full liquids.)
I will reply to each of you tomorrow, but I have a question for today... What are your plans to eat or drink for Christmas? I guess I will have oatmeal for an appetizer with cream of chicken Soup for my meal and sf chocolate pudding for dessert. Anyone have any other ideas?
Talk to you all tomorrow!
Teri
Hi Bandcamp! I am in Arkansas! I totally understand about the preop diet and licking the plate. hehe! I have been on full liquids since last Thursday. I can have anything on my list as long as I stay between 1000 and 1200 calories and have 3 Protein drinks a day. The fat free cream of chicken Soups and oatmeal are the only "food" type things on my list. Who knew low fat cream of broccoli Soup could taste so good?!
I am nervous as well, an I can totally tell that I am not eating what I used to eat. Like everyone says, each day does get better for me.
How much weight are you hoping to lose? I could lose close to 200 pounds, but my first goal is 100!
Nice to "meet" you!
Teri
All of you scheduled for next week (the week of the 27th) or anytime in the next few weeks, LETS CHAT! I am scheduled for the 27th!
How are you doing on your pre-op diet?
Anything you want to talk about? Let's all get together on this thread and help each other!
Teri
Thanks for the replies!
I never thought about getting tired of the protein shakes before it is even time to start them. I guess I will stick to what I am doing and just start the pre op diet cold turkey, so to speak!
I am hopefully having the lap band in mid December. When you were getting ready for the 2 week liquid diet, did you just go into it cold turkey? Or did you start the weeks before with the protein shakes to get your body used to them? Just looking for some tips to have a successful liquid diet, especially since it will be right around Thanksgiving and the holidays. Thanks for any help- advice!
