Surgery this weekend

Hi, I've been reading posts on here for the past couple of months, as I have prepared for my own banding surgery... just decided to register today, so I could post.

My wife and I are getting banded on the same day (Dec. 19th), and are currently on the pre-op diet. Learning how to eat all over again. We have already attended an information seminar and a nutrition class, so a lot of my questions have been answered. But, I always seem to come up with more... lol.

Just waiting now... nervous and excited... never had any kind of surgery before, so that part is a little scary.

Hi, Remember on thing, You Will be able to eat again! I kind of rushed starting to eat solid food again and missed out on the great weight loss in thoes first few months. Still pleased 7 mo out down almost 50/lbs.

So dont rush it, follow your dr plan and you will be able to eat again.

If you have any other questions let me know

Well, tomorrow is the big day and I will be in your shoes in 4 weeks...I can imagine that a million things are going through your mind. I am wishing you and your wife the best...not bad to have a partner go through this with you at the same time.

Keep us updated on your progress!!

Hope all goes well......

Congrats on being banded to both of you! Good Luck!

My wife and I both got banded in September 07 one hour apart. The staff at the hospital thought it was cute.

It really help when both of us are on the same page. I lost 95 lbs on the band and my wife has lost 85 lbs.

Best wishes on your new journey.

thanks, everyone, for your support... we made it through... my wife had some nausea issues immediately after surgery, but they seemed to have dissipated...

as for me, the Dr. also fixed a hiatal hernia I didn't even know I had... I feel pretty good... sore and gassy, as you would expect... we've started walking to help out with both of those... but, we're taking it slow...

also, we started our Phase 2 diet today... full liquids and Protein shakes...

including the pre-op diet, I'm down 10 lbs. in 10 days... not too bad!

Take care and I am excited that both you and your wife are taking this journey together.

With my wife having the lapband has been very beneficial not only for our sanity but also made the change in lifestyle much easier.
