How long is long enough to wait before Traveling?

Recommended Posts

I asked my surgeon how long before I could fly after surgery and he said 2 weeks. I agree with that. Getting in and out of a car was painful for a few weeks, it caused a lot of pain at my port site.

Do you mean to go on vacation and enjoy yourself? If that is the case I would say a month. I would want to be off of liquids and know what soft foods my body can take. If it is traveling just to get from point "a" to point "b" then 2 weeks. Like going home for the holidays and I am spending time at the family home then 2 weeks. At the 2 week point I was still tired and could not do much after work.

I would say at least a month too. I had surgery and flew two days later and was fine. I was going home and slept all the next day. At a month you haven't had a fill, but should be back on reasonably solid food so you can enjoy yourself.

I flew from Texas to Ireland 3 weeks after my surgery and had no problems running through airports, carrying bags, etc. I had a marvelous, wonderful time ...

I flew to Miami and went on a cruise in the Bahamas for 4 days--8 weeks after my surgery. I did not make a 4 hour drive to Kansas City 2 weeks after my surgery, but I did go an hour away to my in-laws. I could have done the cruise at 6 weeks, but wouldn't have done it any sooner. I did get "stuck" for the first time on the cruise...which was two weeks after my first fill and after a 2-hour flight...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
