Shrinking Violets - Part 5!

Here you go, my Sweet Violets! Another new home for our daily musings....

"Thus nature has no love for solitude, and always leans, as it were, on some support; and the sweetest support is found in the most intimate friendship."

- Cicero

Oh by the way, thanks everyone for your thoughts on the landlord issue. It is almost unanimous that I should run. My DH also said he really does not want to live there anymore even if it were free.

I guess that's it . . . I am going to move. Did I mention that I reallly, truly hate moving, lol. I guess I should just suck it up and go.

Also, feelings are fickle . . . yesterday I started to feel sorry for her thinking she can't find anyone quickly this time of year. This morning after thinking through everything I am feeling like she deserves what she gets for behaving so poorly towards us. A little niceness, decency and respect for others goes a looong way. Too bad for her.

Heather,

LOL @ that old lady from the Wedding Singer. That is a great movie. Movies I could watch over and over (off the top of my head):

Willy Wonka (original)

Wizard of Oz

Up Close and Personal (OMG i love this movie)

Steal Magnolias

Grease (can I get an AMEN)

Fried Green Tomatoes

Natural Born Killers

Idolmaker (circa 1980)

So many others...this list is a work in progress...

OK - this is silly but actually made me laugh because I do like Emoticons. Warning - not for the easily offended:

(_!_) a regular ass (!) a tight ass (_*_) an ass hole {_!_} a swishy ass (_o_) an ass that's been around (_x_) kiss my ass (_X_) leave my ass alone (_zzz_) a tired ass (_E=mc2_) a smart ass (_$_) Money coming out of his ass (_?_) Dumb Ass

Steal Magnolias

Fried Green Tomatoes

Natural Born Killers

Ahhhh . . . three more of my personal favorites, lol. I have never seen Up close and Personal . . . sounds like I might just need to hit the vidoe store

Good afternoon, Violets..

Just back from 3 hours of being receptionist at the hospital for those getting flu shots. It was a little dull, but the best part was seeing a lady come in who I guessed to be in her late 70's. When I asked her birthdate she said 05/02/1914. I said excuse me... 1914??? She said yep.. I'm 95! I had the nurse guess and she said 75. The lady said she was going to go in her purse and get a quarter to pay us for saying nice things. She was a hoot! Kicked up her heels and her daughter said.. MOTHER.. you're not on Broadway. It made the morning totally worth it!

Ethan is here now and it's raining so we're watching cartoons and reading books. The Bobster is out gathering our lunch from KFC.

PamELa.. The Bobster and I are going with Kris on a shopping trip this weekend. No Grady and no Nathan.. We're going to Sam's club and Babies R Us and the outlet stores. Should be fun.

Some of my favorite movies..

Dirty Dancing

Mr. Mom

The Son In Law

Tommy Boy

Sound of Music

Dumb and Dumber

The Mask

James Bond movies and Star Trek movies

Michelle... great pix.. You sure can tell the kids belong to you! Not that you were wondering..

It's 50 degrees and the furnace is humming away. Ethan is watching Dora and speaking Spanish. What a guy.

Heather..a whole burrito, eh? Even though most things go down, I am always reminded I have the band when I try to eat too fast or eat something too dry. I somethings think.. do I still have a band and then the pb's let me know that YEP.. it's still there and still working. I just have to get my head in the game again. Now that the pool is closed up, I'm not getting the daily exercise I did. Too cold and rainy for the trikke yet and with Ethan I can't leave to go walking at the indoor track. By the time he goes home I have evening stuff and am worn out. I know, I know.. excuses.. I really need to get upstairs to my "gym" and get to it.

Such a sleepy, dreary day. zzzzzzzzzzz

Here's my favs...

Fried Green Tomatos (YEA!!) I need to watch that, haven't seen it in a while

Terms of Endearment & Evening Star (I love love love Shirley McClain) These 2 are my alltime favs.

Empire Records

Finding Nemo

Steel Magnolias

Never seen Natural Born Killers, but I have heard the name several times some reason... is it a shoot em up?

so I haven't been on here in forever, but started lurking a couple of days ago. Thought I'd throw in Jaws, Alien, and Kill Bill 1 & 2. I like most of the others mentioned too.

I PB'd on my salad today . I never had that before, but was STARVING...so I rushed it. But was able to go back to it after, at a much slower pace!

Hey Blund (do you want us to call you that), I love Kill Bills too!

Couple others I thought of are:

Goodbye Girl

Sex and the City

River Runs Through It (Brad Pitt as Tristian...OMG, now that is some yummy goods)

bbl

Wooo hoooooo.. another Michigander Bandster!! Where did you have your surgery and where in Michigan are you? And WELCOME!!!

The Bobster says to tell you "Debbie Does Dallas" is one of his favorites............. sheeeeeeeeeeesh

Some more of MY favorites..

Philadelphia

Raiders of the Lost Ark or any other Indiana Jones flicks

The Matrix

X-Men

To Kill a Mockingbird

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Batman The Dark Knight

Fargo

The Graduate

Princess Bride

Knotting Hill

You've Got Mail

Sleepless in Seattle

My Fair Lady

Tootsie

In the Heat of the Night

Fargo is awesome too . . . I should have had that one on my list. I am not always into bloody films . . . but this one is just so twisted and riveting.

I should have mentioned most Quentin Tarantino films are great. If you have never seen Four Rooms before . . . it is a must see. I really wasn't so crazy about Reservoir Dogs . . . too much blood and not enough plot.

As far as Natural Born Killers is concerned . . . it is a whole lot more than just a shoot-em-up. It has real style and is also riveting. You just stayed glued to the screen the whole time. I would say it fits in the same class as Tarantino flicks or Fargo. Also it has Juliette Lewis in it . . . she is awesome and one of my personal favorite actresses.

I also like What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Leonardo DiCaprio shows a whole different side to his acting abilities in that one (and of course there is Juliette Lewis as well).

Hello and welcome Blund :0)

River Runs Through It (Brad Pitt as Tristian...OMG, now that is some yummy goods)

Uhm Pam isn't that Legends of the Fall???? Brad Pitt in LotF & Interview with the vampire... who needs porn?!

I like Juliette Lewis, but I HATE Terintino movies. I can't make it through a Kill Bill. May be why I've not seen Natural Born Killers then :/

Judy, you and I have complete opposite tastes it seems.

Tell Bobster that Debbie Does Dallas is one of Russ' favs too.. har har, I kid.. I doubt he even knows what it is!

Judy, you and I have complete opposite tastes it seems.

Which is precisely why I married the Bobster and not you. Oh wait.. the Bobster and I are completely opposite in just about everything. hmmmmm well, it must work.. we've been together for 43.5 years now. Sorry Laura.. I saw him long before I saw you.
