Mucus?

Okay, so sorry for the gross post, but question for all of you recently banded. I have mucus in my throat that won't come up. It feels like I have a ball at the back of my throat. Do any of you have this? If so, what are you doing for it?

Thanks,

Jen

i just started noticing this... alot coughing which sux because it hurts to cough. im not sure what its all from...

I noticed it as well.... but mine.. well... did cough up. Now it's in my flower garden somewhere!!! :w00t:

I also had it! It went away a few days ago...Did you get that plastic breathing device from the hospital?? I did and that is supposed to help the Dr. said.

i did get that thing... i did it twice since im home.. i guess i should do it more...

Ditto here. I noticed that when I use the device thingy it feels better. I wish I couldcough it up but everytime I do it feels like my stitches are gonna blow.

When I was in the hospital I coughed up a bunch of stuff from my lungs I didn't even feel was in there. It had a bad taste and I accidentally swallowed it. Next thing I knew my throat was numb, apparently it was numbing stuff they numbed my throat with so they could intubate me. Apparently I aspirated a lot of it. Was not pleasant.

After that came up my lungs felt a lot clearer. Though even now, a week after surgery I get up in the morning and still have to do breathing exercises to wake up my lungs that seem fairly hesitant to some days.

My throat feels like a seed is stuck back there. Not sure why! My voice is not the same. I think the breathing tube may have scratched my throat more that it should. My breathing is not the same a slight pain on the right side.

Yeah, my throat hurt up until yesterday - I'm six days post op today. I feel like I have a ball in my throat still. Waiting to get this thrush cleared up, hoping it's related to that. I've been working that incentive spirometer, so the mucus should have cleared up by this point.
