okay just to be clear I am very overweight. I have no excess health problems and don't want them. My bmi is 42, but if I lose about 15 pounds I'm under 40 so, will this cancel out my surgery? I'm concerned of the weight loss from the pre op diet. Or once you've qualified with your initial weigh in that is what stands? Help!!!:tongue2:

Here is what my lap band surgeon told me that once i weight in with him during my first consult that is the weight that they us to get the approval.

Don't worry; it's the initial weight that will matter. You'll be fine.

I thought that must be the case, because they want you to start losing before surgery. I just wasn't sure. I can lose weight I just can't keep it off.
