Frivolous Question about Anniversary date

Hi all!

I FINALLY have restriction (as of May 7 but who's counting?) and am finally losing weight! However I'm coming up on my anniversary date and want a year benchmark.

BUT??

Do I count 1 year from the date I started the preop diet? Or 1 year from the date I got the band?

Big difference for me (7/25 or 8/29) and will make an impact on my 1 year "loss" because as I said I am finally losing as of 5/7.

In the vast scheme this isn't that important, but I wondered what you did, or will do when your "date" approaches? Count it from preop, or from true "band" date?

I am not banded yet, but I will be three weeks from today.

Anyway...I plan to make my Bandiversary be the same as my surgery date.

I am calling it my bandiversary and it will be a year from my date of surgery.

I call my day of banding my anniversary, that said, I didn't have a pre-op diet so no real weight loss before banding.

I think this is a personal choice for you but a few suggestions would be... How about straightforward 'bandiversary' is day of banding. You could also mark an anniversay for the beginning of your journey....anniversary to your healthy lifestyle, anniversary to a new you, anniversary of living life....you get the drift.

I think it's great how well you did prior to banding and that certainly deserves to be celebrated !!!
