OMG.............. I am from Florida, learned about Lap Band through my PCM and of course the TV commercial. I was amazed at the amount of billboards around the LA area on a recent trip out West. It is reeally marketed out there!! I dont want to offend anyone from Cali because I really loved it out there but the impression from the billboards I got was NOT "get healthy" but "get skinny":sad:

To a certain extent, they are the same thing. I totally get what you're saying, though. I can picture a model / actress wannabe that's like 7 lbs overweight looking into the band, lol.

I have never hid the fact that I had my surgery but after seeing it maeketed that way it made it feel like the easy way out and we all know it is NOT the easy way. It is still work

This morning, as i drove from my home to a client's office, I saw no less than NINE billboards advertising the Lap Band. (I live in L.A.).

And the television ads are all over the place as well. They DO make seem like it is the simple, easy way to lose weight.

It's a pretty shady business, methinks......:thumbup:

I did NOT want to upset anyone from LA or California for thatt matter. I actually loved my time there I was just so surprised by the advertising. I hate that some have cheapened something that has helped me dramatically!!

I never heard of lapband until I passed a billboard in Utah. And I thought - what a genius idea. Had the surgery that summer.
