failing

I was banded in October 2006. My pre op wieght was 245. I am 5 foot 7 inches. I started losing very quickly in 7 months I had lost 60 pounds. about 6 months later I hit a platue and my wieght started creeping back. I went for more fills. (I have had 3) but now My husband has been laid off from work and our insurance has been canceled. We are really struggling financialy. I really need to get back to my doctors.

I now way about 235. It is terible. I am a waitress and most of my customers new about my surgery. Now I feel like such a failure when everyday they see that I have gained this wieght back.

I am not giving up!!

I need some advice. Has anyone else struggled with the lapband and was able to get the wieght off?

What did you do?

I know I need to make good food choices and I am truly trying!

Thanks for listening.

Just stay positive. We all have our ups and downs. You know that you can do it. I feel bad for you that your insurance was canceled and now you can't get the fills that may be necessary. Actually, I don't even know how much they would cost because my insurance covers it. Try to convince yourself that you have the tool, the lapband, and get back to basics. Try to weigh and measure your food, or at least journal it so you're completely conscious of what your eating. It's tough, I wish you the very best of luck! My husband is also laid off but I'm the main wage earner so we're doing okay. This economy stinks!!

Find an inexpensive fill Dr quick!! Google it. Ask around. U have enuf life issues to cause depression, this is just one more you don't need and can control a bit with a fill. Think of it as for your emotional health as much as physical health. The amount of a fill will be a pin prick in the grand scheme of things.

Good Luck! :)
