Hi Cookie Monster,

I am pretty sure that answer will vary depending on where you are going. Some places do an open forum sort of thing, others have a structured program with educational lectures.

The place you are going to does both. I'm not sure what's on the agenda this week, but because it is the first meeting since the summer, I am guessing it will be very crowded. No matter what they do, I guarantee you will learn something new.

One thing you will find is that there a alot of people who come who are not sure if they want the bypass or the band. They ask alot of really good questions, and get some really good answers.

I feel bad for those who are struggling with the decision because it just seemed like such an easy choice for me.

The idea of the band sank in when I went to the nutritionalist and she showed me the two teeny jars of baby food. She said she had a very large man in her office that she was seeing and when he looked at the jars, he got up and said nope, can't do it and walked out.

What I'm trying to say is, even though its a pain in the arse to run around to all these places/dr's its a good thing that Doc Ballantyne makes us do it.

I am looking forward to meeting the support group on Thursday :D and you too Ivan, bring a picture of your little guy ((your son that is :) )).

Shall I bring a snack?

To everyone who PM'd me between yesturday and today, here are the answers to all your questions: yes she really does exist, yes she is just as friendly and enthusiastic in person as she is on the boards. No, she won't crack today. Yes, babe, No I'm often intimidated by taller women, no she didn't have us singing the Mary Tyler Moore show theme song.

Let me translate that for you..... SHE IS NUTS !!!! :P

I wanted to take Ira home with me but I didn't think his wife or my hubby would appreciate that :D Your to kind Ira, really. And he's just as friendly and warm with big blue sparkling eyes.

I kinda had fun at the Support Group meeting last night, even with everyone complaining about the chick who wouldn't SHUT UP!!! My offer still stands, I'll rough her up in the parking lot before the next meeting LOL SNORT ~~ I know that one guy would appreciate that. (jk)
