Prednisone and weight gain

Does anybody have experience with weight gain after starting Prednisone? I have been gaining a 1/2 to 1 pound a day but am careful with my calorie intake. Will this gain leave as soon as I stop the Prednisone? I am on 10mg a day for 14 days for severe Sciatica pain. Which also means I had to stop exercising. Help!!!!

    Mimi- Predinisone will make you gain weight. My mom use to have to take for her MS. She use to pack on the pounds. I remember her having a fit when she was told to take it again. Hope your pain goes away!

    Thank you, Denise. I am hoping the pain and the pounds go away. I am sorry to hear about your Mom's health issue. Did she lose the wt in between courses of treatment?

    I had to take prednisone for about a month on two seperate incidents and I gained about 10 pounds each time. The weight did not just come off once I stopped the prednisone I had to start over and work it off again.
