Help!!!!!

:)

Icould really use some support fellow bandsters, so letme tell you a little about me.

On September 21,2006 I was bandesd by Dr. Felix Speigel in Houston, Tx, I am 5'6" and weighed in at 300.1 pounds.

For the most part recovery was fine, had a fill a few weeks later and slowly started losing weight by May 2007 I was down to 264lb, not too bad but honestly I never followed the rules, so 36 lbs was not bad.

So I noticed that I had stopped losing weight so in Jan 07 I went in for a fill and it really helped by june I was down to 237. That's 63 lbs I could nver have done it by myself thank God or the lap band right? Maybe....

Around that time these so callled weight loss clinics started popping up all over Houston..." a b-12 shot, a diururetic, and an appetite suppressent, lose weight lose in NO time". I saw a few friends shed weight in no time, and guess what NO PB"S!!!!!!! So i tried it for about 3 months, I got dwn to 222lbs. Then i started to realize how irritable I had bcome, i was constantly anxious and nervouse, well i guess that's what happens when you take "speed" (appetite suppresent). So with out further ado I stoped taking the medicine and immediatly started feeling emotionally better. BUT, what I had not realized was that the weight loss and diuretics had loosened by band and I was able to eat ALOT ,more than usual. Long story short... I know weight 253 lbs and Dr. Speigel has given me a fill but the scalE WILL NOT BUDGE. (fill in decembcer and february)He refuses to give me another fill for fear that it may be too much, and the truth is some days I'm fine, but MOST i am not. I have the most horrible PB's smetimes,it really scares the crap out of my husband.

I don't know what do do.

Maybe I should have gotten the bypass instead. I'm so pissed at myself. ANY advise will do and will be greatly appreciated.

I see you say that most days you are not fine and you pb alot. You may be too tight. What are you eating on the days you are fine? Are they slider foods? That could be why the scale isn't moving. It can be a vicious cycle. PB from being too tight, so eat soft foods which stops weight loss. Try journaling your food intake so you can accurately get an idea of just what and how much you are putting in your body.

When I became too tight after my hysterectomy I began eating Special K twice a day. I was eating a seriving in skim milk, but it completely stalled my weight loss even though I wasn't consuming too much. I ate it because it went down easily. Once I stopped eating the darn cereal I started losing weight again.

If you are pb'ing a lot and having problems, then it does sound like another fill is not the answer. I agree with crzytchr in that you should look at what your eating. Charting it out along with calorie intake is a good start.

Are you following the banding rules of proteins first, followed by veggies, later fruits and if there is any space healthy carbs? Eating slider foods can either cause you to maintain or even gain weight.

Are you getting regular exercise? Exercise really makes a big difference. Most of us who have met and/or exceeded goal have incorporated exercise into our daily lives.

Are you tackling the demons of emotional eating or overeating? This is the hardest part. Getting involved in support groups, counseling, etc can really help to make a difference.

Good luck.
