I read on a thread here that most insurances would pay for a breast reduction. I'm wondering if anyone is aware if this is something Tri-care has paid for or pays for.

I honestly think the contrary is true; most insurance policies do not cover any type of "cosmetic" surgery, if it is an elective. Unless you have some other medical issues that require the brest reduction (or tummy tuck or whatever) insurance will not pay for it.

My doctor told me they would because mine are causing major back problems, but we decided to wait until I get the band to see how much weight I may lose in the boobs. I don't think they would pay for it if someone is just wanting it done, so to speak, but if they are causing you problems, I almost bet you get it paid for.

They do cover for back problems, my daughter had one. I also had one, but due to reconstruction of one from cancer.

I've lost about 45lbs and my boobs haven't shrunk too much....

i have pain in my back, more so now since the surgery and weight loss. Where do I start about the back issue? My regular doctor? The Gastric doc?
