Addicted....

...to my scale!!!! I can't help it....every time I walk into the bathroom, or even pass the bathroom walking down the hall, I get the urge to go weigh myself! And it's so discouraging because even though I'm losing weight, it goes up and down a pound or two (probably just water retention). So if I just weighed once a week it would show a gradual decline....BUT since I weigh 3, 4, sometimes 5 times a day it shows all the ups and downs. Then I'm in a bad mood when it shows a pound more than it showed a coulple of hours earlier! AAAHHHHH!!!! I know this seems like a ridiculously stupid post, but I am just feeling really frusterated right now as I'm at one of my "up" moments on the scale! Does anyone else have this problem?

Here's a funky suggestion for overcoming scale addiction: If you can't bring yourself to get rid of the damn thing (and three cheers for Brandi for holding out a month before buying a new one), how about moving the scale to the basement? If you are in an apartment or condo building, maybe there's a common storage area where you can leave the scale. You have to go out of your way to weigh yourself. Of course, if you live in a basement, this idea will be no help!

LOL .. ya'll have just made me feel sooooooooooooooo much better. I too, am a scaleoholic. My scale is downstairs and I weigh everytime I walk past it (generally 4 to 5 times a day). Just so glad to know I'm not the only one :)

Good lord. Even when I know it's bad, I can't stay away. I am so bad I will drink some coffee (it cleans me out completely, if you know what I mean-sorry that's gross), still not eat for an hour or two and go back for a second early morning weigh in before I will eat breakfast. What the heck is wrong with me? I think when I finally start losing it is only going to get worse. God help me. :nervous
