Hello, has anyone needed to show documented proof of 6 consecutive months of supervised conservative weight loss program. After trying for 2 years to get approved, finally got a letter from BCBS of NJ saying that they need this. They give examples of Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig...why did they wait till now to tell me this. I have been given months of Adipex through PCP...does this count???? Please help me if you know the answer....trying to be patient but it is driving me batty

What I needed was a letter from my doctor showing that she had put me on two different weight loss drugs (I think Topomax was one, the other name escapes me just now) and also "vouched" that I had been on a 1500 calorie diet under her supervision and had attended Weight Watchers (which I did - ONE TIME). That worked for me, but I have different insurance than BC/BS.....
