I was banded Dec 1st 2008- no complications-two weeks out had pleurisy. all incisions healed fine! slight redness at port site Tenderness never went away-very uncomfortable to sleep on that side (left) (same side as pleurisy by the way) redness and tenderness grew around port incision site turned into puss pocket Fri jan 9th 2009 started antibiotics-Keflex (surgeon out of town) -Sunday jan 11th puss pocket burst and drained. Jan. 13th today saw surgeon she lanced it in the office cleaned, packed and filled wound-she stated that My body is rejecting and pusshing out the deep sutures- one suture came out allready and the other ones will come out within 1 to two weeks-so I have to keep the wound open, clean and pack it twice a day she said it will take 2-3 weeks for this process. She then staed "I hope your body does not reject the port" I am a little nervous. I've already lost 24 pounds. I do not want to lose band!
