Does Insurance cover band removal?

Has anyone had trouble with their insurance company in having them cover the cost for removing the band? I'm thinking of having mine removed and I want to know what I'm in for. I have Oxford insurance.

Thanks,

Lana

I worked with my surgeon's coordinator to have mine removed. After a one night stay in the hospital for chest pains due to my reflux must have sent a red flag to the insurance company and they approved my removal fairly quickly and it was out two weeks from that time. I was not successful with the band after having it 14 months so the combo probably did the trick, good luck, Nancy.
