Problems

I had my band put on in Jan of 05. I lost 55 lbs. They said the band slipped - I felt fine - and I had in fixed in Nov of 06. l lost another 25 lbs. In Aug of 08 I had emergency ulcer surgery. Now I have an infection around the port site. It is swollen and red and painful. I had an EGD today to make sure the ulcer was healed and the gastro doctor said there was a diverticulum in the lower third of my esophagus with retained food. Also there was a prominent impression from the lap band. I am now on liquids and tomorrow I am having a CT scan. I need some info if anyone has heard of anything like this before. Thanks

I hate to say it but - it kind of sounds erosion.

Has your band surgeon reviewed the results of the EGD yet? What does he say?
