Okay, so I was getting up off the floor the other day and felt a "pop" in my abdomen (right around my port). Now, certain ways I move I feel severe pain in the same area. Family seems to think it is a hernia. If it is, what does this mean for me? Has anyone had a hernia?

I had a hiatal hernia that was repaired during my Lap Band surgery. I felt nothing to indicate that the hernia was there.

This is more than likely related to your recent surgery. You are just over two weeks out from surgery. Strange sensations and pain is quite normal at this time. If it gets too severe or the incisions swell or get red then go see your doctor.

The location doesn't make sense for a hiatal hernia. If you do have a hernia near the port site, it will be easily diagnosed by your physician. Another possibility could be that your port has flipped, which is a relatively simple repair.

Definitely get in to see your doctor soon. Any strong pain is worth getting checked out quickly.
