Can't burp

I can't burp. I had my band 10-19-07, nearly a year ago, and not once since I was banded have I been able to utter up one little burp. I asked my doctor and got sort of a lame, brush off answer about the band placement not allowing air to come up. Acid reflux comes up! Slime comes up! I've pretty much just learned that this is the way it is for me, but last night I just felt like I needed to burp so bad, leaned over, pushed, etc,,,,,,,,, no burp. What's up with this?

DYING to BURP again. :)

I'm sorry I don't really have an answer for you. Come to think of it, I really can't remember the last time DH burped?!? He's 1 1/2 years post op. HOWEVER, my MIL had gastric bypass and now burps, excuse me - belches- more than ever. She can burp like no one I know! It's incredible.:)

You can't burp and I can't stop burping. I sound like a man drinking beer! I am sorry for the answer your doctor gives. If the answer that you were given is accurate, then my band must be placed differently than yours. I thought most people actually burped more after banding. Not sure now.:)
