HELP TROUBLE after all my FILLS

Hi, someone please help me!! I went in at 5.4cc for a fill that was long over due. I hadn't had restriction in months. The Dr. filled my band and put it from 5.4cc to 6 cc I went home and it was too tight, I couldn't even drink anything. It hurt to swallow. I went back the next day and my stomach was irritated so he had to take it down all the way to 5 cc and told me that I would have to come back in a few weeks after the swelling went down because I need it put back in. He was right two days later I was staving !! I went in again three weeks later and he put me back at 5.5cc which is just 0.1cc more then I had gone in to begin with but he said my stomach couldn't handle it all at once and that I would have to come back again in a few weeks. Well again he was right I was hungry after 2 days. I went back yesterday and he put it up to 5.8 and I was fine all day. I had liquids and ate cottage cheese twice just fine. I made the mistake of taking one of my meds before bed and even though I cut it, it hurt going down. Well it is almost 3:00 pm today and I can't even drink anything not even hot stuff. It all hurts going down. I don't know what to do. Is it gonna get better or do I have to have some removed again?? My Dr. is two hours away and it is Saturday. Please help I am so fustrated and hungry and tired of it!!! I don't know is this normal ??? Thanks ALOT, Deanna

You can not go without liquids for 2 days, I would give it a couple hours and if you can not drink small amounts of Water then go to the ER. if you can drink even in very small amounts I personally would wait til Monday and go to your doctor again.

Sounds like your stomach may get irritated and swells shut when you get a fill, but then relaxes in a couple days.

i can certainly relate to you.....i recently had a 1cc fill put in under a barium swallow test (2ccs and nothing would go down). I now have a total of 6ccs in a 10cc band. I had this done now for 11 days. The only thing I can get down is liquids and sometimes that can be tough. I have tried to have more solid foods but everything just comes back up for hours! I have been miserable. The only positive thing is that i have lost 8lbs. Called the surgeons nurse and she told me to wait till monday and call if I am still having any problems, that they would unfill some on tuesday. She said it usually takes up to 2 wks for the band to relax a little and that I should be able to eat something more then. So I am undecided as to what to do...i am thinking that I will wait another 2wks to see how I am doing then. My doc only does fills on tuesdays, and if i dont do it this tues than i will have to wait another 2wks as i work a wk on then a wk off.......so its either this tues or 2wks from now....

anyhoooooo, i hope you try to get some little sips in, as thats exactly what i have been doing.

good luck, Debbie
