appeal

I was denied by UHC w/a 38.7 bmi. I have appealed and now have several comorbidities and a 40.3 bmi. What are the chances that they will reverse the appeal? How soon should I start bugging the insurance company after the receive my appeal by fax?

HI - Hang in there. I was approved by UHC with a 40.1 BMi/no co-morbidities in 3 days. I actually gained a few pounds before we submitted the insurance paperwork until I hit the 40/BMI since the bariatric coordinator thought it would be easier.

Good Luck I hope all works out well.

i was denied by UHC with a 38.4, submitted an appeal with a comorb. and a 39 bmi and was denied again. gained weight to be a 41 bmi resubmitted a completely new request and was approved in 10 days. good luck to you.
