process so slow for me

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I was banded on May 13, 2008 , and only lost 17 pounds.I don't know why the process is so slow for me.Does anyone know why the process is so slow for me??????????? Well, anyway, Dr.Touliatos at Trinity Medical did my lapband surgery.I really like him a lot. I think he did a great job.:lol: I think i have the standard size band.I am up to 4.5cc, and i have some restriction, i don't eat alot.I just really don't have any idea why the process is slow for me to lose much weight like others.Any suggestions, out there??????????????

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lol::unsure::):unsure::eek::eek:

It's very hard to know without you sharing more info like---what type of eating/adjustment plan did you MD put you on right after surg? What was your beginning BMI? What is your eating plan? How old are you? Do you have medical conditions or are you taking particular medications. Were you required to lose weight before the surg and if so how much did you lose in what period of time? There are many factors that determine how fast we lose.

If you have 4.5cc in your band, sounds like you probably have a 10cc band.. if so, it can take 7-8cc to get good restriction.

Hang in there, 17lb loss is still a great achievement, you're not gaining!

17/4= roughly 5lb a month.. not bad at all.

I was banded in Jan 08 By Dr. Touliatos At Trinity

...I did great for the first few months. Then I got a fill that was TOO much and got sick, I had to have some take out, since then I have been SCARED to get another fill. I have not gained any weight until now, only like 2 pounds, but I am LOSING NONE to SLOW in the past 4 months. SInce that last fill that was taken out I have only lost 3 lbs. I am discouraged and I know I don't eat as well as I should, some days I only eat one meal and I make it bigger than it should be. I am going Monday for another fill....I wish us all luck, I want to be losing more than I am and get SO DISCOURAGED......

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
