Home and banded!

silly.gif Wow! I never, ever thought that the day would come when i would get to say that!!! that's so exciting to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to thank everyone so much for their kind words or encouragement. This is a dream come true!

I'm home and resting. I'm really sort and have lots of tummy gas but other then that everything is good.

The surgery went well. I had my band done by Dr Aceves in Mexico. the Dr. and his assistants Nina and Yolanda were wonderful! I give the whole experience an 'A"!

I was so sore that first night after surgery. I kept thinking to myself "what the heck did I just do?!?!" I was so tired, nauseous and I couldn't get comfortable. But I felt a little better the next day and little more the day after that.

The only hitches were communicating with the nursing staff. I found out the hard way that pain medicine makes me very nauseous. We found that if I took the anti nauseous medicine at the same time as the pain medicine then I did fine. But trying to explain it to every new nurse that came on was difficult as I don't speak any spanish. But we worked through it and they were all very professional. The only other hitch was that there was some miscommunication with what time we had to be to the airport. My flight was at 4:30 pm but due to miscommunication we were on the road to the airport around 10:30am. So it made for a really long day and I was so tired and sore when I got in at 9:30 pm last night.

But I had a great experience and I thank Dr. Aceves and his staff for a wonderful experience! And thanks to this group for your warm wishes!

Hope to be loser soon!

MaryRuth

P.S. I totally couldnt' have done it with out my mom and her help! Big gold star to those of you that do this by yourself!
