About a year ago I started to get lower left side rib pain about twice a month, it's grown and grown and now I get it almost every night. This pain is sharp and radiates into my left shoulder (No, it's not my heart).
It is mostly at night, in fact up until about a month ago it was only at night but now it's starting to come during the day and the pains are so sharp it sometimes makes it hard to take a deep breath. Tylenol isn't strong enough to touch it btw.
I finally talked to my Dr. once about it and ... of course... the first thing out of her mouth was "I wonder if that port is rubbing on something." As many of you, I had my surgery in Mexico and if it IS port pain my insurance will drop me like a rock. The Dr wants to start running CT and MRI's.. again, if it's found to be the port insurance won't cover any of that and if I had any money I wouldn't have had surgery in Mexico.
The last time it started I actually found my port and giggled it a tad, it didn't help... I didn't think it would but figured I'd give it a try.
I wanted to know if anyone has had similar pain and if it was the port. If it is the port I may need to try to save up and go back to Mexico. This is so irritating, I can't sleep because of the pain and now that it's during the day it's just making me miserable.
ETA : I've had my lapband since 6/1/06 and have tried all different positions with no change in pain.
