i figure there are plenty of people in my area who are self-pay with no insurance, and i was wondering if you could help me out with the research, as to what local doctors cost for the "full package" so to speak. i heard back from Dr. Enochs...i got the following response. please tell me this is expensive and that there are cheaper doctors in the NC area??? :wink2:

Enrollment fee $400.00

Surgeon fee $4,000.00

1st year Band Adjustments $1,000.00

Hospital fee $16,500.00

Anesthesia $1,600.00

Total: $23,500.00

I flew to Aurora, Colorado (Denver) and Dr. Kirshenbaum did my surgery for just under $10,000 for everything. You only have to make one trip too, but I fly back and forth for fills. His fills are free for 3 months, then they are only $15 each. So I can fly to Denver for about the same price as a local fill. Dr K is fantastic and I have never regretted having him do my surgery.

Hey! I've actually done lots more research since posting this thread, and have made my appointment with Dr. K for 11/5!! I'm considering flying back and forth for fills as well. There are so many Dr. K patients out there! You should join us in the official Dr. K thread over in the Doctors forum. :thumbup:

That is pretty much right on. My initial enrollment was only $255.
