My first fill!!!

Hello everyone....My name is Tee and I go get my first fill on thursday(6-09-05).

What should I expect? Will it hurt? What should I eat right after and for how long? I am really scared, only because the nurse told me that it will hurt just a little. Oh yeah......before I go one last question. How soon and how fast does the weight come off after you have your band filled?

Hi Tee, I feel nothing but pressure when getting a fill. I have had 4 and I NEVER feel pain. They give me a shot to numb the area. I just lay there and chat with the Dr. and his nurse while its being done. NO BIG DEAL!! Don't be scared!

I lay down to get my fills because I have a disability but I quess some stand up if they are getting theirs with Fluroscope. I don't know, I quess it all depends on the Dr.

I had to have 3 fills before I felt any good restriction and am super happy with my 4th fill. All Dr.'s are different with what to do after a fill. Mine has me do liquids for 24 hours after a fill.

As for how fast does the weight come off? Well that all depends on you. Eat right and excersice and it should come off fast enough. The norm is about 1-2lbs a week.

Good luck and you will do great!!!! :)
